Re: Removed games? (detection engine and other reasons)

Can someone verify on the reasons they got removed and if there are plans for those to come back sooner or later? Thanks. The ScummVM wiki for the Igor engine calls it "Incomplete, development stalled. The existing code just allows to play the game demo." The page for the M4 engine is less clear, b...

Re: LucasArts games (ALL) erroring out

I'm recompiling a fresh build, lets hope it's one of those strange "didn't use gmake clean" issues... If that doesn't help, you could take a look at the configuration file and see if you can find anything wrong with it. The README files should provide information about where to find it, depending o...

ConfigManager::getBool(demo_mode,): '' is not a valid bool!
Sounds like a problem in the ScummVM configuration file, where it found a "demo_mode" variable with no value. Though how that happened I do not know.

Re: Zork Grand Inquisitor GOG DVD version

By 'getting sound and audio to sync up' you mean the alignment between AC3 sound and MPEG2 videos? I did not notice any discrepancy between them. Although I did notice some mismatch of subtitles with the sound in DVD videos, with subtitles disappearing too quickly. However, that's a minor complain,...

Re: Zork Grand Inquisitor GOG DVD version

It seems that the interlacing problem has not yet been solved. Is it possible to do anything with that at all? I have to add that MPEG2 movies also have a somewhat quieter sound and wrong resolution: the original DVD version used to show MPEG2 movies at the original 720x480, while in ScummVM they a...

Re: Very different volume in OPL emulators

This may not be the best place to ask that question  You're talking about DosBox & MAME....How does this relate to ScummVM? ScummVM refers to its AdLib emulators as "MAME OPL emulator" (an old version, I believe), "DOSBox OPL emulator" and "Nuked OPL emulator" (the most recent one; I don't k...

Re: Future Wars CD edition don´t play mp3 tracks!

I came across this thread while trying to get Future Wars CD soundtrack to work with the game. Hopefully this issue has been addressed in the last 6 years :) Can anyone point me in the right direction for this? Thanks! The ScummVM README file has some information about ripping audio CD tracks. I be...

Yeah, interlacing is very apparent :?
I noticed that when I was getting the audio and video to sync up acceptably (i.e this pull request), because I had to watch that intro movie more times than I care to remember. But I couldn't figure out what to do about it, so I ignored it.

I think it has something to do with using the Libretro port. The game plays fine when I use the regular version of ScummVM. If you have any ideas on how to get it working?
No, I don't have any ideas at all. I don't even remember if I've ever heard of Libretro before.

I can't reproduce the problem under Linux, using the development version of ScummVM, running the game in windowed mode. But I don't know how that setup compares to what you're running...

Re: ScummVM settings dont affect game

My issues are 2 things. In the first screen where you can finally move, the birds dont sound like birds. They sound like low sounding midi thuds instead of tweets. I've seen a few others come across this problem but no solutions given. Judging by the thread King's Quest V - bad sound in scummvm , i...

Re: King's Quest V - bad sound in scummvm

The bird chirps sound different to me in ScummVM and DOSBox as well, if I use AdLib sound. I had hoped than changing which AdLib emulator ScummVM uses would fix it, but if there was any difference it was minimal.

I don't know how to debug this, though.

Re: Swedish translations of SCUMM games

Maniac Mansion is a bit different though: different coding of X and Y, 1 byte code for the adverb ("to", "with"), fixed verb widths... I am still trying to locate those adverbs to translate them, but they seem to be encrypted or something in one of the files, as I can't seem to grep it. I believe t...

Apparently it uses a completely different game engine than the first Shivers game, so I'm not sure anyone's working on that at all. Though I've been wrong before.

Probably a lot longer. The most recent commit in that branch was in 2012, and that was the only commit that year.
