Re: Aspect Ratio Correction on FM Towns Games

This is really great. It should be implemented at least as a switchable option in the official version. I'm glad to hear that you enjoy this feature. I have enjoyed implementing it :D . However, in order to add this to the official version, I need a volunteer to test this in Loom. See detailed expl...

Re: Dreamweb animations seems slower on newer builds

filipetolhuizen: Can you indicate what Platform / Operating System you are using? I assume you are using a ScummVM daily build, so which version that is as well? ... This would be best as a bug on bugs.scummvm.org ... but this information will help us work out if this is an issue with delay on spec...

I wonder, it got slower in comparison with earlier version of ScummVM or is actually slower than the original? (youtube let's play videos could be a reference, or try a dosbox).

Eugene
Slower than both.

Dreamweb animations seems slower on newer builds

Hello, It's been like a month that I've been noticing Dreamweb animations playing slower than usual. This doesn't seem to be a performance issue, as the mouse movement is still smooth and hasn't changed, there's also no jerkyness or choppy sound throughout the game. Has anything changed in the code ...

SDL 2.0.6, 2.0.7 and 2.0.8 had severe sound issues as well. 2.0.9 fixed all the stuttering and hissing that were not related to specific hardware emulation.
Oh, thank god. Everything sounds great again!
Sorry for not replying your other post sooner. Haven't been on much lately.

Re: King's Quest V - bad sound in scummvm

Most of bad sound issues in ScummVM is due to SDL2 versions 2.0.6 to 2.0.8. Version 2.0.9 fixed all sound issues I was experiencing with ScummVM and everything else that uses SDL2.

Try using an older version of SDL2, previous than 2.0.6.

SDL 2.0.6 and sound problems

If anyone is experiencing choppy/popping sound on recent builds is due to SDL 2.0.6. It has sound issues with most software that relies on it (Stella Atari emulator and ECWolf port also had major sound problems, no problems with SDL_PoP). Reverting to 2.0.5 should fix it.

The Macintosh version has graphical inventory, which DOS-CD version has too. The DOS VGA disk version has text inventory. They also sound very differently under scummvm. Macintosh version also seems to look brighter, while some colours in DOS VGA version seem washed-out.
