This time I had a new palette being generated every two frames instead of one, which might account for the noise. How about the raven though, is its motion ok now (i.e: no freezing) or did you mean that at some point it simply disappears?

The filter has indeed gotten an update and I already made a lossless encode during the night. Expect a new DXA version to toy with in a few hours.

The filter I'm using to replace nearly identical frames with exact copies might be getting an update that would most likely solve the issue Raziel reported. Keep your fingers crossed, I know I will :).

It gets better :-) This time the background noise shows up only every two or three seconds The problem is, the raven isn't animated anymore (stuck on the sky) unless there's fade-in and fade-out of the credits... Overall really looking good, keep on That's exactly the kind of feedback I was looking...

Here's a new version with the new filterchain and new palette creation set to "every 2 frames":

Hopefully the changes made for a better-loking result.

Uniformizing/stabilizing the colors on contiguous frames might be doable by simply making a new lossless encode with an extra filter. While I find out which settings to use, please take a look at this 64MB version.

Here's another version, this time made using john_doe's suggestion: http://rapidshare.com/files/67074868/intro.dxa.html Hopefully it looks better, as it now takes almost 64MB . By the way john_doe, I couldn't find the standalone DXA player you were talking about and the ffdshow version I down...

Ok, I now made an actual DXA encode. My SCUMMVM folder is in a drive I can't access right now, so I can't try it for myself. Therefore, I ask that you test it for me. Here is the download link:

I meant to convert to DXA, not Smacker . Blame it on a brain fart :p. I had a rough day yesterday and went to bed right after work, but expect the DXA version today.

Currently encoding lossless intermediary file. In the meantime, here's another couple of screenshots showing one of the frames with (IMHO) the most improvement: http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/9743/frame1400sourcenj2.png http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/6910/frame1400filteredlr3.png By the way,...

I managed to replicate the original filterchain and introduce a few (likely unnoticeable) improvements. Expect a DXA encode sometime within the next 24 hours :).

I'll ask around and try to find out if ffmpeg supports or will support DXA encoding. In the meantime, I want to try clem's sugestion and give the filterchain a new try as I found a fixed version of one of the filters. By the way, if there's any other cutscenes or game-related footage you would like ...
