That's fair enough and I can understand that, but surely every other app in the store has this issue does it not? And if not how is it that they are able to do it and not you? I'm not saying it doesn't bug me, it really does, but when the most popular game, or app of any sort, Super Monkey Ball, do...

i reeeeally hate to be impatient, but... any news on the 2.0 port? ;-) i take it, it will it be released via cydia and/or installer? is there a cydia repository we might need to add to the client? other than that, keep up the good work! Cydia doesn't have a source editor yet, but saurik added the M...

lol -- I've bought a few games from the app store already, and I refuse to get any that don't save your game when you receive a call. Apple's Texas Hold'em, a really nice Sudoku game, Enigmo, Aurora Feint... all save progress ;-). The early versions of ScummVM didn't retain state when a call came in...

But why does ScummVM need to run in the background? Can't it just saved the gamestate and ask if you want to continue where you left of when starting ScummVM again? See the link in the post above yours for more information on why a state can't automatically be saved :) Furthermore -- and Vinterstum...

As a tip (especially when choosing conversation lines) many games support right-click. So you can slide your finger down through the conversation lines until the one you want is highlighted, then tap a second finger on the screen to right-click that option. It does the exact same thing as left-click...

Another hurdle is state saving. Apple doesn't allow any software into the app store that uses a background process, or is persistent in any form when you hit the "home" button. In its current state (and please correct me if I'm wrong), when you hit the "home" button, the app paus...

I really like this idea -- especially if it can be applied as an option rather than the standard, since a few games might still be good with the current control scheme. I'm not sure I'm 100% on what you mean, though -- I see two possibilities for this. Possibility 1: The game is full-screen. There's...

I must admit, I'd been taking Vinterstum's work a bit for granted in the past couple months. As soon as 2.0 was jailbroken, I upgraded and realized with shocking horror that ScummVM wasn't compatible with 2.0! Many thanks for your continued work, Vinterstum :) It's a shame that it takes the jailbrea...

I've actually been using a gyroscopic "air-mouse" that I got off eBay a while back, but this sounds even better. :D That's a cool experience :) It plays right into the same deal of using the accelerometer in the wiimote to control the pointer, though... Fun for about 10 minutes, then it j...

If OpenSSH is activated, you should be able to connect via SFTP with user 'root' and password 'alpine'. The Password Fix is only for local terminal connections.

absolutely :) If you *do* have term-vt100 (and the password-fix for it.. it's in installer but I forget exactly what they call it), you can run it, type "alpine" for the password, then run the command 'df' and hit enter. It will show you all mount points, their size, the used space, and pe...

As I told you in private, big thanks for your tutorial. Could you please add a noobish approach to the iPhone filetree? For example, disk space availability in which or which directory (yes /var/mobile & /var/root I'm looking at you two). Sure can! The iPhone uses a standard UNIX file structure...

Play Scumm games with the Wiimote!

I was bored last weekend, so I had a goal: I wanted Curse of Monkey Island, on my TV, fully playable with the Wii controller. And none of that "roll the controller left and right and tip it up and down to move the pointer" that you see in so many youtube demos -- I wanted point-and-click j...

How to move games to the phone in 1.1.3 and 1.1.4

Howdy everyone :) Sorry for not being around so much -- real life has unfortunately taken precedence over ScummVM. I've gotten a few E-mails and PMs about this topic, though, so I figured it was worth posting a guide publicly. This guide is for those who have upgraded to 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 and used the ...
