Re: Is Myst ME the best 2D Myst?

I've not heard before that the original Windows version of Myst was lacking content that the original Mac version had. So I don't know if Myst ME re-adds all that or not. I originally thought it just used the original assets in 16-bit colour instead of 8-bit. Now I'm curious...

Re: monkey island 2 : ultimate talkie edition

I don't really see how that's possible. It was easy for MI1 because the original DOS version just uses CD audio tracks.

Re: Better Music for GM ScummVM (and DOSBox) games

Sounds like that's supposed to be the timpani instrument playing there but it's playing a marimba or vibraphone or something instead.

Re: Day of the Tentacle - MT-32/CM-32L

What do you mean by "can't get it working"? What happens? Silent audio or the game doesn't launch at all? There are only three versions of DOTT: DOS floppy, DOS CD, and the multi-platform remaster. The first two both support MT-32 and the latter isn't going to work in ScummVM at all.

Re: Better Music for GM ScummVM (and DOSBox) games

The CD talkie version of Space Quest IV (the one included with all currently available purchasable collections) has an officially tweaked GM-geared soundtrack. The original floppy text version does not, however. So it should be GM compatible. However, the GM translation that Sierra did isn't the bes...

Re: ESRGAN: AI Neural Net Upscaling

To all "non-programmers" here. ESRGAN will not come to ScummVM. The reason is simple: it is not real time, and is unable to produce 60 frames per second on modern computers. There are attempts to work around that by lowering the quality of the output, and algorithms like RTSRGAN produce 15 images p...

Re: ESRGAN: AI Neural Net Upscaling

I'd love to see something come of this. Since I lost my computer I haven't been able to upscale without my GPU. But I've recently figured out how to do it via CPU instead but it takes way longer. Been doing some experiments with the plethora of upscaling models out there now intended for different t...

Re: Legal Issues with NEW SCI Games

My advice is share it in the form of patch files. The game should load them without having to pack them in the RESOURCE.XXX files. That's the only way you're going to be able to do it and not get in trouble. Check out the SCI Programming forums . I seem to recall there being some official font resou...

Re: Legal Issues with NEW SCI Games

No. You'd have to build Laura Bow 2 from the ground up in AGS first which seems like a complete waste of time. AGS is entirely its own engine separate from SCI. Use SCI Companion for what you're trying to do.

Re: MIDI (General MIDI, MT-32, etc...)

Incidentally, I've not had any problems using MUNT on the Switch. I thought soundfonts were working fine too. But I haven't used it in a while.
