I actually don't own most of these games, even though I've played some of them. So I'm definitely buying everything they're putting out in the point-n-click department.

And it's quite weird, beautiful new pictures and music, with 1990 animations. I know they tried to obsessively mimic the original but it really looks awkward. It's built on top of the old game (did you try pressing F10?). There are only triggers for the old animations, so adding new ones would prob...

It also does not explain why ScummVM keeps working on games that are already natively working under current windows versions (like MI3). As far as I can tell over the years the motivation has expanded from "make this run again" to "make this run on as many devices as possible". ...

@jg: My point is that the first person (that bought/buys the floppy or CD) will be able to play on EVERY device he owns. The second person (that buys it for steam) will not get the same benefit. This does not make sense to me, especially since it seems to be very easy to make the steam version work...

Are you going to stop supporting/developing/porting for Wii if official Wii ports come out? Why are you even considering to support this form of "customer milking"? Should customers have to pay extra each time they want to play a game they own on a different device? Just a note from an in...

How can the default DirectX 9c possibly not be enough for this? It's not that they are doing really complex graphical stuff. I thought the depth of field effects were quite advanced and added a great deal to the atmosphere. But I don't think it's a matter of what's "enough", it's a matter...

Also when you select an answer, and I usually pick the smart ass answer, Guybrush very rarely said what the text stated. I seem to remember this as a gag in the old MI games, but it seems a bit overused in Tales. There are several GUI gags in Tales though. I love when the hover label changes after ...

I just bought Loom, The Dig and both Indy games on Steam. None of them are directly recognized in ScummVM 0.13.0. Just fyi. I only tried because I wanted to turn off the pixel smoothing. I prefer blocky pixels.

Now, when you do get yourself a legal copy of a game, you don't have to copy all of the files from the floppy(s)/CD, just the ones in this list: http://www.scummvm.org/documentation.php?view=datafiles

From scummvm.org: "allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed". Old games designed for DOS generally don't run on Windows XP, Mac OS, Linux or mobile phones. ScummVM does.

Here's a step by step process to get the needed files. Buy the game you want to play. Insert the CD into your computer. Copy files from CD to hard drive. Add game to ScummVM. Play! See, it's easy! Note step number 1. And read the forum rules. When it says "READ BEFORE POST", that means you...

I think it's the audio thread, which isn't re-enabled properly when you re-enter scummvm (it's put in pause when tasking away). Or the sound thread is not running. or it can be something timer/thread related just for that special instance. It seems to have nothing to do with any of that. The audio ...
