Re: Cursor Stuttering on Windows 10

There was a Windows update a couple of months ago that caused massive stuttering in games. The problem has since been fixed, so you might want to check your Windows is fully up-to-date.

Re: Another sci-fi adventure joins ScummVM

I'm happy to report that the game is completable with the latest daily build. There are still a few glitches here and there ( which I've reported ), but it's generally looking good! Hopefully ScummVM support will convince GOG (or whoever) to start selling the game so that more people have a chance t...

Re: Discworld 1 Best Version

I don't think it is a "complete misnomer", since a lot of the early supported games for ScummVM did not feature speech audio, in which case "text speed" actually controls the speed of subtitles. It does control the speed of the subtitles, but it's wired backwards. When you incre...

Re: Discworld 1 Best Version

Dialogues, for instance, are very slow. When a character ends his line, there's a few more seconds break before the new line appears. I tried to raise the option for "Text Speed", but it doesn't change anything. Anyone knows if there's a fix? The "text speed" option in ScummVM i...

Re: Kyrandia 2 need Savegame

Can't you just empty the bottle by clicking it on Zanthia (to drink it) or on the cauldron (and then flush the cauldron)? I'm pretty sure the game doesn't have dead-ends.

Re: A Stealthy ScummVM Operation

Well, I gave it a try, and I can report that the game (or at least the French EGA DOS version I played) is completable without major problems. (I did use the console cheat for The Rats™, because life's too short.) I filed a couple of bug reports for minor problems. Obviously, the biggest problem is ...

The sword icon is the main cursor in QfG2. To leave the table, type "stand", "stand up", "get up", or something similar.

Re: Infrastructure updates

Should the forums display a favicon? They seem to have stopped doing that since the update. On an unrelated note, is there a chance someone could clean up the announcements and pinned topics in General Discussion? You currently have to scroll through 15 (!) of those, many of which haven't seen any a...

ScummVM tries to save the screenshots in its own directory. If you're on Windows 7 (and Vista?) with UAC on (and ScummVM is installed in Program Files), that's not allowed and they will get redirected to C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Scum...

Kurufinwe Isn't saying 'it's not' completeable a bit much? I can't see much difference in it and calling the person who completed it a liar. Why would somebody do that? I've posted games as completeable because I managed to reach the end. But somebody else could play it and not be able to finish it...

I see that KQ5 VGA (floppy, English) has been marked as completable in the wiki. It's not. While it seems to share most of its bugs with the EGA version (which I guess makes sense, since they were developed at the same time, contrary to the non-English versions and the CD version), and while the EGA...

Re: SCI Pre-Release Testing

I've given the floppy version of KQ5 a try (I like to pretend that the awful CD version never existed). Here are the results: Game: King's Quest V Game Version: Floppy, DOS, English ScummVM Version: 1.2.0svn51527 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (MacBook 5,2) Problems: The game is currently not compl...
