Re: Amazon: Guardians of Eden

In that case if you can make sure other volunteers have that source code, maybe they'll be interested.

Re: Amazon: Guardians of Eden

Isn't it the same source as the original version since they come in the same EXE file and get switched in real time with a click of a button?

Re: Amazon: Guardians of Eden

Alright, so now that it's confirmed, I've submitted a feature request , so maybe someone else will volunteer some day. :) Shouldn't this be officially considered for Google Summer of Code 2024 ? Why implementing whole new engines before finally integrating the better version of this game? If any ca...

Re: Quest for Glory Cheats?

I read the instructions here https://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/SCI/Debug_Modes which recommends copying debug scripts from Dagger of Amon Ra or Police Quest (SCI remake), but the SCI Decoder doesn't run on my Windows 10 64 bit machine, and anyway it would appear that those debug scripts wouldn't p...

I didn't say use it for that. I meant it's a quick and friendly way to prepare any kind of Windows program.

Re: SetRes - companion app to launch scummvm at lower screen resolution

Disclaimer, ChatGPT wrote this for me, I can't code C++ It took a few attempts but the end result appears to work well, and the code appears to be fairly simple for anyone who might want to check it out. Just out of curiosity: Was this done with GPT-3 (e.g. the default version on chat.openai...

Re: Amazon: Guardians of Eden

My CD version, as well as the one GOG sells, have that graphics mode when running in DOSBox, and they do have speech during conversations at least. (Can you tell I'm not at all familiar with the game?) So at any rate, I guess it wasn't dropped from all CD versions. It's way beyond my abilities to a...

Re: Amazon: Guardians of Eden

No, it doesn't. The sub-engine for Amazon is based on a disassembly I did of a PC CD talkie version I had, as I recall. As far as I can remember, I never saw any special code for a SuperVGA mode in it. So it may have been dropped for that release. The weird thing is SVGA was one of the game's major...

Can Sierra SCI games be toggled between VGA/EGA?

Various SCI games had a VGA/EGA setup option that could toggle between VGA Color, VGA Grey and EGA. Just for comparison with VGA, as ScummVM plays these games in VGA (and in color), is there an option to play them in EGA or for that matter VGA but grey? It's mentioned in Understanding the graphics s...

Re: Amazon: Guardians of Eden

This game runs in VGA, but the original version had a VGA/SVGA toggle buton Alt+V, whereas the Super VGA had various benefits like an always-on inventory screen.

Does ScummVM support this game's Super VGA mode?

See screenshots from the original version's manual.

True, but v2.6.0 was only announced this week. :D
In any case, I think it's a landmark change, 15 years in the making. I'd say the license's maker would be proud but he became persona non grata in the years that passed.

Re: Any thoughts on moving to GPLv3?

Well, it's really true to never say never. 14 years later(!) I rubbed my eyes to see one of v2.6.0 beta's highlights was moving to GPLv3+.

Once it becomes official, I think ScummVM can be considered as a huge win for GPLv3.

Re: Sierra SCI Debug Modes

I imported the SCI parts from HWM's excellent Debug Mode FAQ to scummvm's wiki: http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/SCI/Debug_Modes The wiki repeats the statement "the easiest way being SCI DECODER v1.0". I believe that was true years ago. This app is very user unfriendly, looks like a DOS ...

Thank you for your great dedication!

Regarding Sherlock, if several bugs were fixed, how come https://www.scummvm.org/compatibility/ still shows "Good", like it always did for Sherlock?
