Re: Ghosts, Curses, and Two New Nancy Drew Mysteries

In a sense yes! But they won't "just work" at this time yet: in each new game there are usually new minigames or puzzles that have to be programmed (for example, mini golf!), and sometimes new stuff appears like a cellphone or wallet, or switching characters in CRE, or even driving around town in ...

Re: Nancy Drew: Danger On Deception Island

Huh, I've never had to make matches across tabs before! I didn't realize that could even be done. There are no matches for the tiles all within a screen? I'm playing the original now and it seems like matches are all within one screen.

That pipe glitch is funny xD I played recently and never saw ...

Re: 1 1/2 Ritter english translation review

If you need proofreading of text, I am happy to do that! (But I am not familiar with the game at all... :D) Or will I need the game, to test how it works with some new files?

Re: Registering is too difficult

Oh interesting, I wonder if those typos are intentional to make it more difficult for bots to do the right thing. (If they weren't intentional ... maybe they are now ... :p )

Re: Old Nancy Drew / The Vampire Diares - translation

I'm wanting to write a new CIFTREE now; I got stuck at the portion which looks like a hash table. I'm not sure if I can understand how to write my own version of that without understanding how the games use it--for reading i.e. extracting, it seems to be optional and ScummVM skips it at time of ...

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?

There is a search function, so I think it won't be buried and it should be easy to see if someone has requested a game already.

Re: Old Nancy Drew / The Vampire Diares - translation

Thanks for pointing me at RavioliGameTools! Looks like .NET so maybe not hard to examine how it works.

I think extracting is easy, but then packing things into a new CIFTREE/etc is the challenge; I don't know of tools that do that yet.

Re: ScummVM Tools, 42/70 detections on VT

seemingly no one reporting it

It is reported here some number of times ( and ScummVM itself too )

probably smart to give it a recompile
What to do when the recompiled one is detected?

VirusTotal has a public report form anybody can submit. It seems to want a "corporate email address" which ...

Re: ScummVM english Readme.txt where to find

I guess it used to be in docs ( https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/pull/2590 ; https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/commit/b68c04b805bb6be0a9b58cf6d19436fa34ecb458 ) but was removed a few weeks later at https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/pull/2648 ( https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/commit ...

Re: ScummVM english Readme.txt where to find

AFAIK it was dropped in 2018 in favour of https://docs.scummvm.org/en/

The last version of it which used to exist can be read here: https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/blob ... cee/README

Anubis took very long

Anubis took two minutes! Do we really need this measure to this great extent to protect the wiki? (Difficulty 5?)

Re: Old Nancy Drew / The Vampire Diares - translation

Those formats are unique to the Nancy (+TVD) games. Standalone tools don't yet exist to unpack & repack those. (Maybe some old source for old tools are archived somewhere, but according to my search effort, not reachable on the internet today.) To write an instance of those tools is on my hobby todo ...

Re: Scummvm gui defaults to black and green from shortcut on kubuntu

I wonder if it has to do with the shortcut: it may start ScummVM with a different working directory. (dreammaster's solution should help in any case.)

You mentioned specifically "from shortcut on kubuntu" in the title; do you usually start it another way, and does it look right if you do it that ...
