I am using ScummVM on my Chromebook. I first installed it by APT, but that only has version 2.7.0.
I then downloaded an updated version ( Debian 12 (bookworm) x86 64bit package) from the ScummVM downloads page which upgraded me to 2.9.1.

I had some problems and couldn't get back to us before now. I have the 2.8.0 version and while the pillarboxing is gone, the image behind is still there and still orange.
