everywhere else recommends using compression because everywhere else has FAR more processing power than the DS :P

ScummVM DS does support compressed audio, but I wouldn't recommend using it. Trust me, just use monster.sou - it works fine.

I don't recommend compression, I find the DS is barely powerful enough to handle sam & max with uncompressed audio. It would be horrible compressed.

The files aren't that big, really (but then I have 2x 1gb SD cards ;))

I went from mini -> lite just by copying the contents of my card. No need to use the M3 manager at all, and scummvm worked 100% on both. Your problems sound like an issue with the M3, there is a page on the M3 wiki for which brands of card work best. Try upgrading the firmware, the M3 team might've ...

if your M3 says "saving scummvm-a.dat" when you turn it on after running scummvm, then you're fine. Yes, the setting for that is in the option screen. Just open the .ini file in notepad, and check that everything looks like it's in english (even if you don't understand it, all the letters ...

I was using an M3 miniSD and a 1gb A-Data flash card - before I sold it to buy an M3 Lite I tested 0.9.1 and it worked fine. Try copying everything off it, formatting it fat16 (full format, not quickformat) and copying everything back. Check the .ini file isn't corrupt while you're at it. Yes, the S...

Chishm (the guy who wrote libfat, which scummvm uses) already knows about it:

somewhere you will have an app (for my M3 it's called the M3 game manager) which is designed to patch NDS roms so they run from your SC Lite. This app also creates a file that the SC Lite uses to store NDS save games - scummvm requires that to remember that you held down the R button on startup. If ...

dourden wrote:Sorry AgentQ, but what do you mean with "Have you set up the SRAM properly?"
you need to copy the scummvm NDS file using your SC software, so that it sets up a save game file (like you get when you copy a game rom file). scummvm uses that to store your preference for holding R on startup.

Both my M3 lite and my old miniSD work perfect for me, as they did in beta 6 :)

indeed it is - but old habits are hard to break. I used to format floppies a lot, and even hard drives... so painfully slow without quickformat, and once you start a normal format you can't cancel and start a quickformat ;)

I never said it had anything to do with /q, but I always used /q in dos because without quickformat formatting took forever :P

the windows formatter doesn't list /u in the options, but my card wasn't badly corrupted so I can't say if that option would do anything or not.

That's why I told you to use the DOS formatter, because it does the right thing. I think the /u option will also overwrite parts of the header of the disk which would otherwise be left in a broken state by windows (but I might be wrong about that). not quite... if I'd used the DOS formatter, I woul...

you can't play DOTT in zip mode, it's 300mb. Try what just fixed my issue with an M3 - copy everything off the card, right click on the card's drive in windows -> format choose FAT filesystem, and ensure quick format is unchecked (also ensure you're doing this on the correct drive ;)) after it's for...

Spyder, it sounds like your SD card has become corrupted. Reformat it and copy the games again, then use the force sram save option to stop it happening again: http://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?t=2175&highlight=forcesramsave I would've said so too, but it works fine in beta 5 :P I think I...
