Re: Adding some obscure games to ScummVM?

I would be more happy, if developers spent their valuable time on something else than obscure Portuguese games in Portuguese only about history of Portuguese colonization. These games have a government propaganda purpose and if government sponsored them, they should finance a port as well. I second...

Re: Some AGS issues

It might be a bit better, but the overall issue remains. Note that the issue is only in non-optimised builds, so release builds should work well on most devices. Even the more demanding games work well on my 10 year old iPad when I build ScummVM with optimizations, but some of those games look like ...

Re: Scummvm, crt tv 15Khz, SDL1.2 and SDL2

For OpenGL, the change to use the desktop resolution in fullscreen was made a few months ago as part of the changes to support High-DPI screens. This means that the last release (version 2.2.0), which predates those changes can still change the screen resolution in fullscreen mode. You can use the C...

Re: Graphics modes gone in latest git?

The options have been reorganized to clarify how they work. The options you are looking at are the scalers that are only available when using the SDL Surface graphics mode. See https://docs.scummvm.org/en/latest/settings/graphics.html and https://docs.scummvm.org/en/latest/advanced_topics/understand...

Re: Thousands of games needing testing

There is this hilarious bug in particular where a bunch of games using a old version of the 'smoothscroll' script module have to have their cfgs forced to use 'os=win' in linux because the script literally has 'if in linux you don't work' on it. https://github.com/adventuregamestudio/ags/issues/758...

Re: Official Daily Builds vs Additional Snapshot Builds?

I wonder if (especially for the release builds) "--disable-debug" is necessary or implicitly declared by "--enable-release". That is indeed no longer needed: https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/commit/6f1a119263 That being said, I am not sure it is a good idea to use --enable-rel...

Re: Requesting support for wider iPads

For access to save/load, see https://docs.scummvm.org/en/v2.2-docs/other_platforms/ios.html#controls For example a two finger swipe from top to bottom should show the menu. Or you can use a pinch gesture to show the keyboard, and there is a key to show the menu in the bar at the top of the keyboard....

Re: How to stop random word pop-ups on some game starts?

I have QFG1VGA from GOG as well and checked that I don't see this myself. I have also never seen it for other games either. Maybe this is platform specific. Are you on Windows, or maybe Linux (I am on macOS myself)? This looks like a ScummVM OSD message, but I can't find any code that would display ...

Re: OpenGL Pixel perfect scaling... isn't?

I have some code that works: https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/pull/3040 But it has not landed yet in the official ScummVM. As noted in the pull request linked above, I am not sure if the new pixel perfect scaling should replace the old one or if we want both (I think we might want both as some pla...

Re: OpenGL Pixel perfect scaling... isn't?

I looked at the two image, and apparently Dosbox stretches a bit the image vertically to get even pixels. Instead of giving a 320x240 ratio (or 4:3 ratio), which is what ScummVM aspect ratio correction provides, Dosbox seems to allow some leeway on the aspect ratio, and in this case the image has a ...

Re: OpenGL Pixel perfect scaling... isn't?

One thing to keep in mind is that the aspect ratio correction stretches the image vertically to go from an original resolution of 320x200 pixels to a multiple of 320x240. If your window size is 320x240 for example, 1 pixel every 5 pixels is repeated, and if your window size is 640x480, 2 pixels ever...

Re: Thousands of games needing testing

You can have both at the same time, but you will indeed need to edit manually the description if you want to be able to differentiate them in the game list. Adding separate detection entries would not be enough to solve this though. And we need unique IDs for each games added to ScummVM. One of the ...

Re: Thousands of games needing testing

As for Space Quest IV.5 its obviously totally up to you to decide and I would fully agree if there was only one version available on the AGS site (since that would probably be the first location where people get the games) but I just looked and they actually have both versions linked. So, I don't k...

Re: Thousands of games needing testing

Thanks. I have now added the detection entries (but changed the title for a few of those to match the names I found in the AGS game database and the AGS forum - for example https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2384-space-quest-visual-novel/ has "Space Quest Visual Novel" w...

Re: Thousands of games needing testing

Hi again, I just finished adding some of the games from the archive and noticed some more wrong/incomplete game titles. But liked I said, it is currently not possible for me to use one of the mentioned ways to contribute my changes. I can provide a diff file and post it on pastebin or something lik...
