Is it possible to use the compression tools, in Vista?

My current computer system is Vista. And for all my DOS needs, I go to Dosbox. I'd like to compress Monkey Island 3 files, but lo & behold, DosBox won't work with the ScummVM tools. I've got the Vorbis files, for compression. So now what is my question? I've found this thread ... but unfortunate...

I think its more than just Maniac Mansion & Monkey Island Sega CD. Its the fact that, while discouraged, ScummVM can be used to play the games without ownership of the original media. The fact I can play Monkey Island on my PDA is an example of this. ScummVM is well meaning, but while it has the...

Turns out that I just had a faulty memory. Apparently, I did all my compressions in MP3 format, I just remembered getting FLAC first. Still,I kind of wish there was a download link to LAME with the optional libraries, seeing as how you need it for the compression.

Compressed SOU file, but only works w/ latest ScummVM, why?

I compressed my Monster.SOU file down into a Monster.SOF file using ScummVM & Flac. (I used Flac because I couldn't figure out what files I needed to d/l for the other formats, or at least I can't figure out where the downloaded files need to be.) I did this before my semi-recent upgrade, and ev...

This is the stable version, right?

I downloaded the most recent edition of ScummVM Saturday/Sunday & I've found it to be very unstable. It has crashed on The Secret of Monkey Island (from the start), CMI (semi-playable, then froze) & FOTAQ (semi-playable, then froze), and the transcriber/keyboard button while not seen, if I p...

Do you have the hide/unhide tools button set-up? If so, try pressing that to get the tools back. If not, I suggest you set it up.

I have Broken Sword, Full Throttle & CMI loaded on my Hitachi 6GB Microdrive. Full Throttle & CMI animations work just fine, but Broken Sword's animations are problematic. So I don't think its a card issue, but its either an issue with your/my PPC. Or maybe Broken Sword doesn't run animation...

Latest build?

Just wondering, but are CVS builds available for the Pocket PC version of ScummVM? Furthermore, are there any new builds that have been created since the releaste of 0.8.0?

Yeah, I get this problem with Broken Sword as well. I'm planning on reporting it to the Bug tracking forum, but I'd like to figure out how/where to get the latest build for Pocket PC & where to put it. Unless of course, Pocket PC have builds like the PC version. You can make the BS save freeze s...

Reporting Bugs & Errors: Here or Soulforge?

Just wondering where we should be reporting errors. I mean, is Soulforge being completely discontinued, or are the links on the main page an indication that it will continue for purposes of error reporting. I have to admit, while Soulforge wasn't the best forums board, it was pretty good in terms of...

Well, I do know that ScummVM will automatically enable the key mapper if you try to run a game that requires additional keys. Like Full Throttle or COMI. It might be possible to edit some sort of text file, but you'd have to ask the ScummVM team on that one. I know the Key Mapper on the previous bui...

Apparently, either from oversite or for some other reason, the key mapper has been removed from the 0.8.0 version of ScummVM pocket. I know, because I easily found it under Options>Misc in the last version. However, you can still map keys. You just need to have ScummVM run a game that actively needs...
