Grim Fandango Remastered Upscale Viability

Hello everyone! I've been toying with the idea of upscaling the 2D backgrounds for Grim Fandango and the results are looking pretty good so far for a first pass and I'd like to do this for the whole game if possible. https://slow.pics/c/85syBe5B However this was all done with normal screenshots and ...

Re: Thoughts on Grim Fandango Remastered?

I thought widescreen was in the docket of things to do because of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cigf0ZT9pu0 Sorry! I wouldn't have brought it up otherwise. I think that if we could find a way to import the models we have into the remaster it would be a nice option for those who want it ...

Re: Thoughts on Grim Fandango Remastered?

This is great news! I do agree the widescreen would be tail end, running the remaster in ResidualVM would go a long way to getting the very nice 3d models from deluxe into the remaster.

Also I'm not bashing on the remaster in anyway I agree I'm in love with it.

Thoughts on Grim Fandango Remastered?

Like most of you I am currently enjoying Grim Fandango Remastered and I think it did alot of the goals we were trying to accomplish with the Deluxe project. The shadows are nice, the textures look sharp, and the controls are great. I can't however think that it could've been better. I only helped wi...

Re: Does this announcement mean the closing of this project?

The Grim Fandango wiki page says Tim Schafer reached out to some fans who made improvements to the game. Has anyone been contacted with Double Fine?

Does this announcement mean the closing of this project?

Now that it is officially announced that Grim Fandango is getting an HD remake will the Deluxe project shut down?

I figured it out! http://i.imgur.com/0Ybbel0.jpg It's really odd. Everything that you want to show up as black should be #010101 and it looks 100% black. But everything that you want transparent should be #000000. So with Glottis mouth I have a thin circle of 010101 with a center of 000000 so you se...

I'm glad that your liking the progress. I totally agree with the Wind Waker comment. I think my personal art style kinda leaked in so I'm going to do some tests to try to get that painted feel in. And with the transparency I just need to add the pink in because right now when Glottis opens his mouth...

Year One Glottis is coming together nicely. Still have some things to change like the color of the black of this mouth and I still need to make his mouth transparent. I'll apply the changes to glottis eye's and hair that Johnny made because I agree with them both. Let me know if you see anymore issu...

When I said I used the exact colors I meant when I was painting I just used the shades that were in the original texture. I extracted the ACT straight from the CMP. Do I need a different ACT file for each texture? Maybe something is happening that I don't even know. If we can't figure this out I can...
