The kind of bugs and the fact that you're running the german version make it highly probable that you have corrupted game data. If you could run a nigthly build you could check whether the data is fine or not.

Due to time constraints. I would find out the time to fix the bug, but what i miss is the time (and the will) to learn another development workflow which, from what i saw, i don't really like.

It is not filed as a bug on github, but it is a well known issue given the time this thread has existed. Unfortunately this seems like a bug which happens on Windows (7) only, so I have never been able to investigate it.

I looked at your savegame and you can un-stuck it by entering "END_CUT_SCENE()" in the ctrl+e dialog. I'd like to understand how it got stuck in the first place, though...

You can see the year change cinematic by entering "cut_scene:byeruba()" in the ctrl+e dialog.

jumping to the start of a year works ok, as you don't need any object.

Look at http://wiki.residualvm.org/index.php/Grim_Fandango_Debug_Mode Your best bet to start at year 3 is probably to Ctrl+G-jump to the "lz" set. But first I would try to jump with "j" (not ctrl+j) to tf, dm, shangai2, hrkitchen or winecellar and see if one of those bring you ne...

Are you asking how to run the original game? That's a bit of an odd question to be made here. Besides, i don't think having it run without any glitch is possible.
Why don't you use ResidualVM since you're in the ResidualVM's forum?

Hmm. Not all of the MAT files appear to be referenced by COS files. And when they are referenced, it's only in the comments section of Chores. Looking inside 3DO files you seem the list of MATs used by it. Such lists are not mentioned in any COS file that I can see...? You're right, i recalled inco...

Do all 3DO and CMP files appear in a COS file somewhere? (Is the COS file the "mother" file?) I'm not sure what you mean with "mother file" there. All 3do, cmp, mat, bmp, ... files are referenced by a costume to be shown on screen. Exceptions are lua and wav files (and maybe snd...

Costumes (.cos files) are a thing i found quite hard to grasp when starting to work on the engine, and i still find hard to explain. Quoting myself from here : Every actor has one or more costume. A costume is a set of components and chores. Each component represents an on-screen object, like an obj...

Yeah, the number is related to the year. data000 is a common package with all the lua scripts and other common data, like manny's textures.

No, they should work. What happens if you try to look at them with the in-game menu option?

No, it's not. I'm not sure what your problem is. Try posting a list of all the files you have in the grim directory.

You put the gfupd101.exe file with the .LABs or did you install it?
