Has ScummVM become too big for the Dreamcast ?

wondering this yet from the 2.0.0 release, sadly the new 2.2.0 seems confirm this theory every new release after the 2.0.0 seems losing some games that in past were at least runnable so apart the well known 'tough to run' ones (Curse of Monkey Island, The Dig, Discworld 2) also the 'medium' ones now...

Re: about Extract/Construct Mohawk command tools

Those two tools were added to scummvm-tools, but are not really intended / ready for end-user usage i.e. compression of resources. got it @digitall, many thanks for the explanation yes, my purpose was indeed to compress some resources (i.e. Riven intro video) to reduce the size of some big files th...

about Extract/Construct Mohawk command tools

I was trying to use these pair of commands, but if i take correctly the procedure, i think that at least the Construct one is quite impossible to be used as it is the Scumm Tools readme lacks of description about these two commands, so i hope in a mine wrong understanding questions : 1) the Extract_...

Re: Alternate Dreamcast backend

tsowell, Myst has been tested with your backend and it's confirmed working great,
with the image correctly centered on the screen,
and with the gamesave that can be reloaded and does works :)

so thumb up for your backend, with this one
atm we are trying to make Riven correctly detected/running

Re: Neverhood can't load game saves

The official Dreamcast backend has problems with saves in engines whose names are longer than 8 characters. My alternate backend supports long filenames for save files and otherwise handles saves the same way as other standard backends, so it might be worth trying if you’re having problems with the...

Re: Curse of Monkey Island question

I’ve verified that Full Throttle is completable with no random crashes using my alternate backend on a 32MB-modded Dreamcast. It runs out of memory pretty early on a 16MB Dreamcast, so that seems to support that the official backend just needs more memory. hi tsowell, nice to see you again, finally...

Re: Curse of Monkey Island question

I have played this game entirely on DC the only way to do it, is to disable at least one thing, between the background music or the speech; the 0.12.0 remain the better release to make run this the banjo-duel sequence is the only one that run very slowly on DC, the rest works decently if not flawles...

Re: Neverhood can't load game saves

not an elegant solution, i know, but i 'fixed' this hexediting the corresponding plugin,
shortening the savefile name string into that, i.e. NEVERHOO.xxx instead of NEVERHOOD.xxx
1 less char is enough in this case
