Depending on whether you use a Soundfont or not, it can sound pretty good.

Re: Hopkins FBI - tiny mouse cursor at 4k resolution

I can confirm that this happens in 2.7.0 and 2.8.0git built from current master HEAD with the demo for Hopkins FBI too (tested with the Windows 95/English one). Setting the graphics mode to SurfaceSDL seems to fix the cursor scaling, so it seems to be OpenGL specific issue. I think this can be file...

Hopkins FBI - tiny mouse cursor at 4k resolution

I just tried running Hopkins FBI on the latest Windows daily build and it seems there's something wrong with the mouse cursor scaling because it's very small, almost invisible, so much so that the small text underneath the cursor becomes illegible with shaders enabled: scummvm 2023-06-23 13-00-42.jp...

Re: DREAMM - The Best LucasArts Emulator? (Another Conversation with Aaron Giles)

I agree it's not competition. It's a great approach for people who want the games to run more like they did on original hardware. From a consumer's perspective it's always great to have options.

Re: Favourite shader?

With so many options now available for shaders, does anyone have a favourite? I like using 'crt/crt-geom.glsp' - it looks sharp but not pixelated, and the rounded corners look good to me when playing on a 16:9 screen .. feels like my old Phillips Amiga monitor. Can't say I've tried them all though,...

Re: *UPDATES!* ESRGAN AI Upscaling (HiRes packs now possible!)

Hello, Criezy already responded on this, here: I think distributing scripts and trained models to let players generate the upscaled backgrounds from their original copy of the game is fine from a legal perspective. Of course that requires some work from each player, so if the copyright holders allo...

Re: Curse Of Monkey Island - best graphic settings

Have you seen the method outlined here? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1937794707 Curious if you have any opinions on it, seems so many approaches have been taken with this If all you want is a simple all-purpose upscaling filter, it's great. Definitely a step up from the HQ...

Can you elaborate on what you mean by that?

Re: Curse Of Monkey Island - best graphic settings

I have never used reshade. Do I point it to the ScummVM EXE or the Curse EXE? Yeah, the ScummVM.exe and then just drop my config in there. You just need to make sure the graphics mode in ScummVM is set to OpenGL but I THINK that's the default option these days. You can leave everything else at defa...

Re: Curse Of Monkey Island - best graphic settings

Is there a general consensus on the best option here for smoothing out the graphics on modern displays? For the method that Kasenshlogga is talking about, is that meant to be on top of using the xBRZ thing that is discussed earlier in the thread, or is that purely just using reshade and nothing els...

Re: Download SAGA engine for DOS?

Let's see, you would like to play "Foxtail" but you're stuck with an older device and cannot play the Unity version...you have nothing. You find out there is a DOS version which is rather close and it does work. SO- you can either have...nothing or...my version. What would be your choice?...

Re: Blade Runner - Original SCUMMVM version back up on GOG.

That’s a relief. The “remastered” version appears to have been widely panned. Looks like it was a rush-job to cash in on the 25th anniversary of the original release. Well, this version has been in the works for a long time. But I still don't understand why they decided to release it in this state....

Re: Curse Of Monkey Island - glitched music transitions

EDIT: Another trick (well, not a trick but an intrinsic limitation) is CD speed: loading the hold room surely takes some time if you're playing from CD, so that loading time will reflect on the duration of the transition That might be why I always remember the track playing to the end on my ancient...
