Re: ScummVM settings dont affect game

@ezekiel000 It's probably not even picked up. Also, the problem is persistent in only one game (KQV). I'd assume the sound would go nuts for every game (if it'd even played at all, let alone ScummVM throwing an error). I rather think there is something wrong with one (or more) of the datafiles (I do...

Re: ScummVM settings dont affect game

Can't help you, sorry. I tried to set all the possible options you hvae and see if it made a difference, but it didn't. The only other possibility wopuld be that you have a somewhat broken MIDI file in your installation, but you already recopied, so... If someone know which file holds the birds chir...

Re: ScummVM settings dont affect game

Well, since i don't have fluidsynth on my plarform i can't test that, but you can try and switch to another audio output.
Switch to something else than windows_Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth and see if the birds chirping is still wrong.

Re: ScummVM settings dont affect game

i mean the "scummvm.ini" file, it should be exactly named like that on windows. It should look like this inside: [scummvm] filtering=true mute=false last_fullscreen_mode_width=640 extrapath=Games:ScummVM/extras/ multi_midi=false gui_browser_show_hidden=true soundfont=Games:ScummVM/extras/UHD3.sf2 mu...

Re: ScummVM settings dont affect game

Just a quick question...do you use the "normal" pc audio output (speakers) or is there hardware plugged between (MIDI etc.)?

Could you post the [scummvm] from your .ini file (maybe i can recreate the issue with your settings)

wrt to the graphics settings - Do you play in window or fullscreen?

Re: ScummVM settings dont affect game

@Vlahka Hmm, since you are on Windows 10...i remember a question popping up from time to time about the fact that scummvm's options/.ini file gets saved to a write-protected area inside the Windows installtion (User-something-something) after the first install. I don't remember what the cure was, bu...

...and the TV dialers are just that, TV dialers on a boring TV :-)

You were able to plug the C64 into a normal TV to work/play with it, no "monitor" needed.

Re: ScummVM settings dont affect game

I recently played KQ6 and only after finishing it, i realized that checking "Prefer digital sound effects" in the "Engine" setting of the game cured a lot of strange sounding in-game effects (like the swordfight sounds from the final scenes of KQ6). I'm using MIDI hardware for any game that supports...

Re: Bad sound on almost all games

Since switching to SDL2 i also got frequent audio dropouts on both digital and MIDI. Thanks to this thread and thanks to @criezy for the link i increased the audio buffer from 1024 (the setting ScummVM uses) to 4096 (my systems default). I still have a question though, the linked page tells me that ...

Re: Arthur's Camping Adventure on ScummVM?

You do understand how ScummVM works, don't you? It's not a matter of writing some lines for a configuration script or adapting something in the code. If a game is going to be supported there has to be a whole new engine written for it, maybe even REing the original exe. As long as you can't provide ...
