.smk files are not needed because scummvm does not support them ;) however, you have to recompress all the .smk files to .dxa and these .dxa files are needed by scummvm... a short manual can be found in the README file included with Scummvm-tools. oh, and there's a huge thread about feeble files in ...

how about some rtfm? there is a file called README which comes with scummvm... 3.7) Broken Sword notes: ---- ------------------- Broken Sword 1 and 2 both come with in-game cutscenes compressed using RAD Game Tools legacy Smacker(tm) format. As RAD is unwilling to open the older legacy versions of t...

Can I do DXA encoding on the Mac, or is it Windows only at the moment? dxa encoding is multi-platform, but for smk decoding (to wav+png) you need the rad-tools which are only available for windows... btw: would it be legal to offer downloads for the dxa videos, or is the permission limited to low q...

just tried it, works fine.
the filesize with dxa is noticeable larger than the mpeg2 solution (dxa + ogg = 112.5MB with "-q 4" vorbis), but as dxa is a losless compression method the quality is exactly the same as with the original smk files.

But it seems to be a wine issue, because I re-encoded the two videos in Win2k and everything is fine now. thx for the tip, it really seems to work without the error in win2k. however, it is still a very strange wine problem... btw: is there a standalone .dxa player? i'd like to re-check if all vide...

Two videos (breakdown and virtua) had graphical errors in the upper area of the screen, but this is either an error of the RAD tool or a wine issue because the resulting png's have the graphical errors, too. Did anyone have had the same problems? (Playing the original smk files is fine.) same probl...

do the new dxa encoded files work with 0.9.0?
if not - is it certain that the new dxa compressed files will remain usable in final 0.10.0? i don't want to waste a whole day of encoding to save ~300mb if i have to repeat everything in a few months...
