I have mangled the letter a and I have copied the E with ´ and put it on an empty space (position 146) and changed it to an `
Then I called that position in my text

Hi Blackmonkey,

did you try to modify a letter that is displayed, like the letter A or something?
This way, you can test if the correct BMP files are imported.

ok, nevermind... I forgot that scummfont doesn't overwrite the existing CHAR files but only creates a CHARxxx-new file. So after adding this to my script before repacking, the font was correctly modified: mv ./dump_MI/DISK_0001/LECF/LFLF_0010/CHAR_0001-new ./dump_MI/DISK_0001/LECF/LFLF_0010/CHAR_000...

Hi Thanius, posting here as my PM seem to be stuck in my outbox. In the meantime, I did find 5 font files: DISK_0001/LECF/LFLF_0010/CHAR_000*. But reimporting them after editing didn't seem to have any effect. Almost as if they aren't used by SCUMMVM at all. Really weird. REM unpack the game files ....

I have followed your suggested approach to port my translated images to the Ultimate Talkie Edition too. It works very well, except that my Title seems to be off for some reason. There are transparent parts in the words "Monkey Island" It is almost as if one specific hue of pink/purple is transparen...

There are no differences between both Monkey Islands. Maniac Mansion is a bit different though: different coding of X and Y, 1 byte code for the adverb ("to", "with"), fixed verb widths... I am still trying to locate those adverbs to translate them, but they seem to be encrypted or something in one ...

The verb grid of Monkey Island 2 can be modified the same way by editing
DISK_0001/LECF/LFLF_0004/SCRP_0021

(I got inspired and even figured out the verb grid of Maniac Mansion :D )

Update: I managed to swap the verb positions (thanks to Thanius!!) with the added bonus of being able to remap the verb keyboard shortcuts

That's a good idea. If only I knew how to get scummrp and scummfont working :? I have experimented in the meantime by starting from the Swedish patch, which is based on the German version in which the verbs "Pick up" and "Use" are already swapped. So far so good, but also some others are swapped so ...

Oh, I see. Did you use the Special Edition then (German version)? I have that in all available languages via Steam, but it seems more difficult to get scummtr to run on that (if possible at all). I have the original CD (VGA) as well, which is the version I made my translation with. First step will b...
