Re: Foxtail

I've tested this version of SCUMMVM on three different devices: 1) A 2012 Windows 8/Puppy Linux 6.0.5 Tahrpup 8GB RAM ASUS (very formidable); 2) A 2001 Sony VAIO Windows XP (Home Edition Service Pack 3)/Puppy Linux 5.2.5 Lucid 256MB RAM; 3) A somewhat superior to the Sony 2002 Dell, same Operating S...

Re: Foxtail

That is excellent news indeed! And a compliment to you, you being someone whom actually works to SOLVE a problem. Trust me, if anyone knows about how different "Foxtail" is from the normal Wintermute Engine, it's me. It took quite a bit of effort and some luck to get the game running on the ancient ...

Partial Success, More CE Versions needed

There are a number of versions of SCUMMVM for Windows CE but I have only found 0.1.0, 1.0.0, and 1.5.0. Can anyone link me to an archive or sites (active ones please!) where I can find other versions? In a nutshell: all four SCUMMVM 1.5.0 EXE files have failed to work, even with GAPI with or without...

Windows CE Failure Error Log

(Note to Moderators: I tried to delete the original post but haven't been able to.) I tried the CE 1.5 package again, and every single one of the EXE files crashed just as before in the previous post. This is what I assume is the error log and what it said: SDL: Version $Rev$ bootstrapping GAPI devi...

Yes. It also fails to install or work in any way. That is the one with several efforts, I tried them all.

Foxtail

I was just wondering if there were any plans for making this game playable on SCUMMVM, since the latest version still can't handle it. The Wintermute Engine being altered is the problem?

I know there was an effort earlier, but I haven't heard anything else about it since.

Running SCUMMVM on Windows CE Failure.

First, I like working with old and underpowered hardware to see how far they can really go. I've had some terrific results with the 2001 Windows XP Sony VAIO. But this involves a 2006 Sylvania Windows CE 6 netbook. Offline it has about 48MB RAM available. It uses an ARM 8505 processor. It is weak bu...

Re: Inherit The Earth Crashes

I should have mentioned: The 2001 Sony is a Windows XP Home Edition device, and the ASUS is a much more powerful Windows 8 device. So they have entirely different Operating Systems and drivers. Also, ScummVM on the Sony uses Swiftshader 2.01 OR 3-D Analyze. The crash still occurs. Neither is used on...

Inherit The Earth Crashes

When you reach the scene with the leader of the Rat Tribe trying to talk to him or look at objects can cause a crash. The message varies somewhat. This has occurred on both 2001 Sony and 2012 ASUS, so it's not limited to a particular device. It also happens with both MS-DOS version and the Steam ver...

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?

So it is! But it's safer to use ScummVM on that old laptop for fullscreen. Besides, "full screen mode" with "The Legend of Kyrandia" and "Inherit the Earth" simply means the small screen is on a black screen- often the desktop icons must be rearranged later- whereas with ScummVM you actually do get ...

Re: Here's Help Running ScummVM Itself (Maybe): 2 Ways

"Engine.ini?" I'm afraid I don't know much about "Pirates of the Carribean." Which version of "SwiftShader" are you using? Does it have a "SwiftShader.ini" file with it? To adjust SwiftShader aspects you'd need that. If you don't have it paste this on a Word document page (or type it in) and save it...

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?

Well, right off the bat: https://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14566 I was directed here by Wintermute, so they know about the effort. I have gotten the game to run, thanks to Gingertips sending an alternative file. The only problem, minor as it is, is that it cannot run without SwiftShader...

Gingertip's "Foxtail."

Hopefully once it works on ScummVM then it will work on this old laptop.

Re: Is ScummVM "Self-Contained?"

Thank you for the reply! Yesterday I managed to download a "WME Demo," the one with a woman in a red dress, a fan, a WME book, and a flashing red "WME" sign outside. It worked fine on the Sony itself, and it worked well (albeit somewhat slower) with ScummVM when using the Swiftshader 2.1 files; it d...

Is ScummVM "Self-Contained?"

The main reason I downloaded and installed ScummVM was in the hopes that it can eventually run the game "Foxtail" on the old 2001 Sony VAIO. The application itself only worked when the three Swiftshader 2.1 files were dropped into its folder, the one with the ScummVM EXE file. This brings up the que...
