If you are on Linux there is an easy way. Lutris has an install script for the 7CD version, click on the unpublished installers (you will need an account to see) and click install.
I opened REHM.exe (first game, english version) in GHex, there was one occurrence of "Macromedia Director" but nothing near by that looked like a version number. I did find a shockwave 8 entry.
Has anyone ever found a complete list of games released that use the Director engine. There's the ScummVM wiki list (https://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php?title=Director/Games) and a few more can be found on MobyGames list (https://www.mobygames.com/game-group/game-engine-director/). I can add Rhem 1-4...

I not sure if this can be played using the Linux version of the engine. Lutris has an install script for the previous game and that uses the WINE runner, not Lutris's AGS runner.

Here's a plan from you, take one of those games run it through a decompiler, copy and paste the resulting code into the scummvm api, upload the engine to the tree. I guarantee you the other developers will think you are coding god, or kick your ass.
