Space Quest V: The Next Mutation with the voice acting mod.
It works, but only if you don't need to reload or restart the game. So for most people in most cases it's better to use DOSbox.
A bit similar issue was in the past with Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within where the subtitle patch didn't ...

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
Adding a "joke" request: savestates, or the true ability to save at any time!
Probably unnecessary in most adventure games, but very useful in 8-bit and some 16-bit adventures.
I recently played a ZX Spectrum text adventure, and I sure appreciated that Spectaculator had savestates available all ...

Re: Registering is too difficult
Confirmation. Registration was a pain, because I couldn't understand what kind of answer I have to give.
I think it would be easier if the question asked "program name" instead of "project name".
Of course, it is a bit confusing that two of the three numeric words actually contain typos, and ...

Re: Sierra's "Conquests of Camelot". Softlocks? [SOLVED]
I appreciate your passion in defending this
I am not defending anything.
I'm simply sharing observations.
With most parsers I actually get fed up with their limitations at some point.
but in this particular case, "get on horse" and "mount horse" serve as synonyms for the rest of the game ...

Re: Sierra's "Conquests of Camelot". Softlocks?
>GET ON HORSE
"Your horse is too wise to venture onto the ice."
>MOUNT HORSE
"Perhaps you should move closer."
Yes! These should be synonims, but only "mount horse" works as expected.
Totes a bug. Totes.
Sounds very unintuitive.
Then again, not at all uncommon. Commands which would seem to ...

Re: Sierra's "Conquests of Camelot". Softlocks?
Softlock is a glitch that shouldn't happen, in other words, a mistake in the program code.
Dead end is a situation that is there by design.
Oh neat, I thought they were synonyms. I personally would call the former a game-stopping bug and the latter a walking dead. And I would call both of the ...

Re: Sierra's "Conquests of Camelot". Softlocks?
I'm usually not a big fan of the old Sierra games, because of all the deaths and because of all the softlocks.
Were those reviews claiming that there are no softlock in this game lying?
I suppose it can be partially semantics.
Softlock is a glitch that shouldn't happen, in other words, a ...

Regarding forums, I'm familiar with their security measures, and none have as many as this forum.
Actually, there are lots of forums that have much tighter control than ScummVM has ever had.
These include, but are not limited to:

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
I figured that a game might be a more worthwhile candidate if a) it used an engine that other games used, so as to take care of a number of games more or less and once, and b) if it's not already playable in an emulator widely-available for many platdorms and with easy-to-use frontends.
That ...

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
A thought. DosBox doesn't run in quite as many platforms as ScummVM, I think, but it's still a very viable solution for a significant number of games on the list. The first 7 entries, right off the bat, are presumably playable with DosBox. Of the first 20, I think about a quarter can be played in ...

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
I also mentioned the rare adventure game The Dame Was Loaded.
That one's available on GOG and Steam, so at the very least it's not hard to get.
I don't know when, if ever, that is going to be playable in ScummVM, but I already want to file a feature request.
When the user clicks a button ...

Secondly, "Defender of the Crown" will soon make a comeback in an enhanced remake that includes a new gameplay version. https://store.steampowered.com/app/4208140/Defender_of_the_Crown_The_Legend_Returns/

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
You know the funny thing? Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
then again, this "wish-list thread" is nothing official, nor does any dev look at it for inspiration on future projects (i believe)
I spoke about "deleting posts" but I actually think that'd be a poor ideea, due to the discussion around. Wouldn't be good to lose it.
I think the best gain ...
