Re: Help trying to dub voices into other languages in Discword 1

Hi, I have a very old script I wrote for dubbing discworld and recently uploaded the script here: https://github.com/adventurebrew/kolminey/tree/main/discworld (see split-voice.py and merge-voice.py) with it you won't need to worry about the milliseconds anymore. I think the script was made for pyth...

Re: Sanitarium Basque translation problems

Hi, here you can find the tool I have written (using the amazing mrcrowbar*) and used to translate the game into hebrew (translation is finished): https://github.com/adventurebrew/kolminey/blob/main/sanitarium/asylum.py the tool is not very friendly currently nor well written, it have hard coded han...

Re: Simon the Sorcerer - Merge Talkie with Subtitles

Can you please describe what have you modified and how? the more specific is better (try changing the least amount that causes the problem)
looking at the original english talkie version, the string at 35201 is "We would be extremely interested in acquiring a certain magical implement."

Re: Simon the Sorcerer - Merge Talkie with Subtitles

Sorry, I can't figure out what the code you sent does, but please note that the string ids are different in floppy version and talkie version. I would suggest to try replacing manually in more controlled way (e.g. verifying the string id is correct in the string table) at the specific part which see...

Re: Simon the Sorcerer - Merge Talkie with Subtitles

perhaps this option can help https://github.com/adventurebrew/magos#decrypt-strings
adding `-c de -u` will convert some characters to the glyphs shown in game and save the files as utf8

Re: Simon the Sorcerer - Merge Talkie with Subtitles

To activate the subtitles in game, first slightly modify the game (e.g. add a typo) so it does not match any known variant. use the latest ScummVM daily build, and add the modified game, choose the option without specific language ("Simon the Sorcerer (CD/DOS) - Unknown version" and not &q...

Re: Simon the Sorcerer - Merge Talkie with Subtitles

But the major issue is that we can't activate the text anyway yet, I wouldn't even mind to do this, if it would be relative easily possible. Thanks to magos, it seems at least feasible. Unfortunately magos seems to have issues with the floppy version, because it not yet uses the SIMON.GME, i guess....

Re: Simon the Sorcerer - Merge Talkie with Subtitles

UPDATE: It seems SCUMM doesn't like the new versions I've 'edited' The game in 'STSFR\' seems to be an unknown game variant. Please report the following data to the ScummVM team at https://bugs.scummvm.org/ along with the name of the game you tried to add and its version, language, etc.: Matched ga...

Re: Kyrandia 3 pak files

Hi, you might find these tools for localizing kyrandia games useful: https://github.com/adventurebrew/kyraim/blob/develop/kyraim/texts.py To use them, you'll need python>=3.9.9 installed, then extract all texts with: python -m kyraim.texts -d /PATH/TO/GAME/DIRECTORY it will generate a bunch of tsv f...

Re: Simon the Sorcerer - Merge Talkie with Subtitles

Hi, which version of ScummVM did you try using? I think the latest version (from this website) should be able to open and play the 25th Anniversary Edition as well which already does have subtitles and voice at the same time. If it still does't work, and you go in "edit the game" route or ...

Re: Remastering speech using Adobe Enhance Speech AI?

Hi, thanks for trying this. For building compressed monster file (sof/sog/so3), it is possible to tweak remonstered tool from (I'm the author): https://github.com/BLooperZ/remonstered/tree/develop https://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?t=14506 (I also personally used it for adding hebrew fandub in...

Re: DOTT Remaster and Full Throttle Remaster Ultimate Talkies?

Hi, "remonster.exe" is contained in the release archives, which can be found here: https://github.com/BLooperZ/remonstered/releases. they are ZIP archives, so you'll need to extract them first, and then copy ffmpeg from your downloads folder to the created directory with the extracted file...
