Re: Scummvm, crt tv 15Khz, SDL1.2 and SDL2

With SDL2, your setup is not possible indeed, since SDL2's full-screen mode always takes the current desktop resolution and doesn't do any resolution-switching on its own. The only way to solve this with SDL2 is to somehow trick your Windows installation to use a 320x200 resolution. You _could_ try ...

Re: AppImage doesn't work on Raspberry Pi OS

Sorry, the AppImage was only tested on the official Raspberry Pi OS itself, so I really can't guarantee it will run on other versions. Is it possible that you run the AppImage file from the terminal/command line and send me the output? Maybe it's "just" the matter of a missing dependency I...

Re: Official Daily Builds vs Additional Snapshot Builds?

Sure, I could adapt to the configflags I use for the actual releases: --enable-release --enable-tts --enable-opl2lpt --enable-discord --disable-eventrecorder --disable-debug I wonder if (especially for the release builds) "--disable-debug" is necessary or implicitly declared by "--ena...

Re: Official Daily Builds vs Additional Snapshot Builds?

rootfather, could you clarify if your snapshots are built with --enable-release too (or just --enable-optimizations), so that the assert checks are disabled? Sure! The snapshots are built with the following config flags: --enable-all-engines --enable-optimizations --enable-tts --enable-updates --en...

Re: Official Daily Builds vs Additional Snapshot Builds?

I have to admit that the wording really is not optimal here, and there surely are ways to better distinguish between the different version. For all platforms, we provide what we call "daily builds" via our automated build system. Usually, these builds are not optimized (in terms of compile...

Re: ScummVM shortcut creator

Sorry for the super late reply, I just saw this now. You should still be able to create shortcuts, but I need to update the game-id list. You'll have to type the name of the game manually if it's not on the game id list, but you shouldn't have any issues creating shortcuts. The list of game ids in ...

Re: Zork Grand Iquisitor (DVD version) x64 Bug

At least someone is looking into it =). Aaaand fixed. lephilousophe was able to track down the issue. The libmpeg2 build we used for building current ScummVM releases and nightlies was broken which lead to the crash you experienced. Since its already fixed, future versions of ScummVM won't have thi...

Re: Zork Grand Iquisitor (DVD version) x64 Bug

Well, disabling the optimizations didn't help, it still segfaults: Thread 1 received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x00007ff66119b240 in mpeg2_idct_copy_sse2 () (gdb) backtrace #0 0x00007ff66119b240 in mpeg2_idct_copy_sse2 () #1 0x00007ff661195952 in mpeg2_slice () #2 0x00007ff66118aaa4 in mpe...

Re: Zork Grand Iquisitor (DVD version) x64 Bug

I can replicate this on the current master, running Windows 10, 64bit. Since it segfaults when using the libmpeg2 functions, I suspect that this library is broken at the moment. I'm currently trying to build a new DLL, maybe without optimization and get it into a working state. I'm not too surprised...

Re: Binary release of SCUMMVM for Windows

Well, this is my case as an example: the speed is not exactly the best when you run SCUMMVM on an Intel Atom, but if you select FluidSynth support then the program slow down a lot, becoming quite difficult to use. However, the performances can change greatly if FluidSynth is compiled for using rend...

Re: scummvm.ini in ScummVM root dir

Would it help if there was a launcher option in "MISC" (together with the pathes) to choose where and what scummvm.ini file to use? I know it could lead to a catch-22 having the location and file(name) of the .ini file inside the .ini file itself, but it would be really conveniant to not ...

Re: scummvm.ini in ScummVM root dir

I think we can all agree that an installer for a portable application is pretty much useless.

_If_ we ever consider implementing a portable mode, then it'll be a simple .zip archive with either a special .ini file to trigger the portable mode or a configuration parameter at compilation time.

Re: scummvm.ini in ScummVM root dir

That's correct, the scummvm.ini file is stored in the %APPDATA% directory on Win32 or inside the user's home directory on Linux. In order to have a fully portable version, we'd have to implement something like "if there's a local scummvm.ini in the same folder as the executable, then run this, ...

Re: scummvm.ini in ScummVM root dir

Hmmm. What do you folks think about something along the lines of an additional command line switch like "--portable" which will redirect all saves and the .ini file to the path where the ScummVM executable is located?

Re: Call for testing: ScummVM AppImage

Thank you very much for testing and confirming it's working! I'm currently working on refining my builds while working on the Raspberry Pi AppImages, so I expect we'll see an official x86_64 release soon(tm).
