Re: Blade Runner - Original Game "blade.ini" Display Options?

The game was made long before you could use a widescreen monitor. And it was to a set resolution, too.

Re: Question about Monkey Island EGA + CMS music

Hmm. I'm having no sound effects at all in Monkey 1 EGA. Even outside the Scumm Bar or in the kitchen. I've tried Stable build Daily Build on MacOS x64.

MT-32 music is playing fine, though. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks!

Re: In Cold Blood progress pre-merger

I also have fond memories of this game! If ScummVM can do anything to make it any more playable it would be amazing, but I remember the story being great.

I think this is exactly right:

Re: Pixel perfect visual output?

Hmm. It seems there's been some discussion about this before, but no ScummVM solution is mentioned?

Edit: Ok. Wow. So there IS a "Pixel Perfect" stretch mode. It's VERY close, but not quite... interesting.

Pixel perfect visual output?

Hello all, I'm playing through some classic old games thanks to ScummVM, but I'm bothered by the way pixels are rendered. I understand there's a fundamental problem in that the pixels that would have been seen on old CRT monitors when playing classic LucasArts adventures wouldn't have been square. W...

Wonderful! Phew. I was a bit concerned. Thanks for preserving all the hard work that was put in. I feel it may be of use to someone, one day!

Re: Game fonts

This is a lot later, but this post came up as one of the top hits in Google, so here's the font, as I just found it. The one on the ScummBar is another font completely.

Wow. This is fascinating. I never would have imagined that scrolling in an adventure game would be so difficult to implement...! I guess Gilbert and co had the better coding abilities? I bet the artist of that giant multiscreen artwork was disappointed.

Re: Westwood’s Blade Runner (1997) is finally available for purchase as a digital copy

Thanks for sharing all that. Not sure if you read my whole post or not? (Castle said two years ago that it wasn't really "voxel plus" but rather "voxel lite".) However, I also think we might be talking at cross purposes. I assumed miracle.flame was talking about ALL the character...

Cruise for a Corpse... How do you save?!

Hey there, I'm playing Cruise on a Macbook Pro, but I can't find the save menu. According to the manual you have to press both left and right mouse buttons at the same time... but obviously on a trackpad (and maybe even with a Magic Mouse) that's not possible. Is there a way to save in MacOS?

Re: Westwood’s Blade Runner (1997) is finally available for purchase as a digital copy

Other than that, I should note that even at the time of the original release, back in 1997, most of the character models did look block-y and left something to be desired. Apparently, this was due to the compression that the developers had to apply on the models, which they didn't have the time to ...
