Bug report made. I suppose it is more of a feature request, really.

Yeah, but only if you remove or rename the MYST.DAT file. Otherwise ScummVM will start the full game instead when you pick The Making of Myst in the launcher.

Yeah, this is great news. Note that to get the making-of video working you have to have to copy the files MAKING.DAT and MAKINGOF.MOV to a separate folder. MAKINGOF.MOV has to be inside a folder named MAKING that has to be inside a folder named QTW. This is because of the annoying way the ScummVM la...

Zip mode means that you can skip "unimportant" rooms that you have already visited when you move ahead. The cursor will turn into a lightning bolt when this is possible. I think the transitions are supposed to look exactly like in the Windows version. The unsupported Mac version had four d...

It seems so. I've seen a couple of visual glitches, but haven't been able to compare with the original. I think you need to compile it yourself at the moment, as it doesn't seem to be enabled in the "nightly builds".

With the latest Git version, this workaround is no longer needed. Myst support is pretty complete now, as far as I can tell.

How to make Myst fully playable in ScummVM

For some time now ScummVM has been the simplest and smoothest way to play Myst on a modern computer. The only thing not working is the fortress rotation holo-simulator in the mechanical age. However, this can be worked around. So far I have only tested this on the ME version, but it might work with ...

It would perhaps make more sense to make the fullscreen (green) window button work properly. At least for me on El Capitan it tends to crash Scummvm.

Yes, my bad. The font that Scummvm uses in dialogue and descriptions is Franklin Gothic Medium, the actual font (framd.ttf) in the game directory. The original interpreter is using something else that might be Arial.

Sorry, no difference. Just to be clear, the problem is that Arial (used in dialogue and descriptions) is bold in Scummvm when it is not bold in the original Wintermute interpreter, and that Cambria (used in the photo album) is not bold in Scummvm while it is bold in Wintermute.

FreeType2 is definitely enabled in the builds I have tested. Without it the game would complain about missing fonts and then crash, remember?

Nope, no matter where I put the Arial font file, the text in Scummvm still looks like in the screenshot above. It seems to be using a bold Arial, unlike the original interpreter. And a regular-weight Cambria in the photo album, where the original uses a bold variant. Coincidence or a mix-up in the c...

Here's at least a quick and dirty screenshot comparison. You'll have to excuse those extra pixels outside the edges. I'll see if I can work out later how to make Scummvm use the same Arial.ttf as the original interpreter. Now it uses whatever is default. I suppose in particular the second issue migh...

Well, I suppose I was mainly thinking about the issues caused by bad and missing files in the original, listed under "Not Fixed in ScummVM".
