I do actually expect things magically resolve themselves, so I could have a break. But it is not happening ;) Ah yes - perpetual optimism, I also suffer from that indictment. I think the fact we are having a mostly civil and open discussion and sharing perspectives from that time is a good thing :)...

Hi Ivan! I was not present on AGS forums at the time when Chris Jones opened the engine code, neither when fuzzie (Alyssa Milburn) and sev had a discussion with the members of AGS; I missed this discussion by mere 3 or 4 months. But re-reading the forum threads of that time made me question how accu...

The scummvm.ini file location is OS-dependent, but on modern Windows it is usually in "\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\ScummVM\scummvm.ini". See section 8.0 of our README for more locations. In this particular case, I would suggest putting the ScummVM install, config file and gamedata in a shared l...

History of ScummVM article on Ars Technica

Hi all, Richard Moss has put together a really great article on the history of the project - from 'then' to 'now' - on Ars Technica. Really worth a read for those who are curious and maybe don't follow the 'behind-the-scenes' of the project: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2012/01/maniac-tentacle...

Oh, apparently there is a way to wrap native C applications in a JAR-like (zip) format to allow for native execution without having to break the phones normal environment. You have to wrap the thing in the java classname (eg, org.scummvm.scummvm). I'm not sure about the details, I only had quick cha...

Re: port to android g1??

Actually, I was playing a ScummVM (DOTT) on a real G1 last week. Angus from Google whipped a port up at linux.conf.au Tuesday night, and the progress on Friday was pretty good (sound was not implemented yet). Once he has cleaned the patch up (given this is something hes playing with his spare time) ...

Re: ScummVM 0.13.0 builds for release testing

Hi tomten, This is based off the main 0.13.0 code - I am not aware of any obvious NDS-specific changes from 12b4. Sorry for the lack of a readme, these were built at a conference for a demo under pretty tight time constraints. Generally, as 0.13.0 is branched now, this is close to the 'official' bin...

Unfortunately, although I initially thought I could massage Discworld to fit in the DS. In hindsight, Discworld uses too much memory to currently work on a DS (it allocates about 10Mb on startup). As 0.13.0 is branched, only certain changes can be made at this point - any optimisation which may allo...

ScummVM 0.13.0 builds for release testing [obsolete]

[Please note: These builds are broken. Good lord! After all of these years! Don't remind me! Usually, the hard bit is obtaining necessary permission from all the involved parties. In this case, Terry enthusiastically responded within 12 hours of being emailed... But it took us years to actually obtain the code. That said, I feel complet...

Forum and Wiki maintainence [UPDATED]

Hi all, UPDATE: The Wiki updates are now uploading, and this will be available shortly. Due to some template incompatibilities the Forum upgrade is postponed until tommorow afternoon, however this should only result in a quick 5 minute blip. --- Please note the ScummVM Forums and ScummVM Wiki will b...

Is that what it says (can you read harigana) or did you make that up? Yeah the box art is really craptastic for that game but the game is much better looking and much better sounding than any other versions of the game that I've played. Honestly, whilst the redrawn 256-color graphics are fant...
