Igor: Objective Uikokahonia is now Freeware

November 29th 2007 during the Adventure Developers Online Conference 2007 Pendulo Studios announced in the forums that they decided to make "Igor: Objective Uikokahonia" freeware. "As many people asked, we decided to make IGOR freeware. Sooo, it's official now I guess." "You...

I'm always lazy. I copy the encoder to the folder, and create a start.bat where I give the suggested commandline parameters. Maybe if there are more files I add then correctly. Then save the bat and starting it.

I dont know Oblivion, I know Myst 5, Moment Of Solence, Paradise, Runaway, The Black Mirror, Still Life, Halflife 2, Secret Of The Lost Cavern, Syberia, Journey to the center of the earth, etc etc etc. They dont use Windows folder (apart from some evil StarFarce copyprotected games :$) Most do use t...

That isn't going to happen on a multiuser OS where the current user may not have administrative privileges, and you might have several users using the software. Same reason you don't put user specific config files in /usr/local/share on Unix systems. Well, how do the big game companies get it done ...

What? Keep in mind we're talking about the configuration file here, not savegames. The majority of other Windows software you use, are keeping their config files in the same spot. Are you a Windows user yourself? Installed any (commercial) software recently? Anyway, I have many many many games (200...

Again I stress that pointing to the FAQ also reviels that he has nothing against open source, even loves it, but does not want someone to rip his product, claim ownership and sell it or whatever. That point was made very clear in the FAQ as well. Q. Then can I have the source code, to port it myself...

Eek, personally I think this (and tried to discuss it before): savegames and scummvm.ini should be in the application folder by default, not My Documents, or the windows folder, let me try to explain (again). My documents I like to keep clean because it will be my documents that go there, sot some f...

AGS FAQ states that this will never happen. Actually he goes on explaining why it isn't open source: because an earlier tool from him was released by someone claiming he wrote the tool. That's the reason the AGS author would not release his source to the public. But did anyone ever ask if he maybe ...

I'm happy with adventure games but
- Dont want them to be shorter (a bad trend nowadays)
- Dont want them to be dumbed down (a bad trend nowadays)

Ofcourse also no Action sequences or timed puzzles ;)

Not in the shops means no CD-ROM version? (I'm a Adventure Game collector :)

Re: ScummVM game creation studio?

However the adventure gaming genre seems to have died out with the introduction of faster and better computers. Anyone hanging out for new commercial point-and-clicks is likely to be sorely disappointed (with the possible exception of ‘TellTale’ games who appear to be developing...

Hey, the themo looks nice and is a cool addition to the site.

You still use the same board as before?

Congrats to the designer, allthouh mentioning special buttons and icons made me think that perhaps some adventure characters would populate them.

Well done!

The license in the readme states: "You may modify the game as you wish. You may also distribute modified versions under the terms set forth in this licence, but with the additional requirement that the work is marked with a prominent notice which states that it is a modified version." What...

Question concerning data files

If the data files needed to play some games only contributes about 700KB to the download, why would't SCUMMVM include these files in the SCUMMVM folder (where I now keep the files)? After giving it some thought I think its not about the additional size but about the dat files itself. As was mentione...
