Re: Possible oddities with The Dig music
In SVM this change doesn't happen seamlessly because the cues don't fade in and out; instead, as I walk around, the cues are like stopping and starting suddenly, without blending. I noticed it generally in the game. When I originally played it years ago, the ambient music cues looped over and over ...

Possible oddities with The Dig music
Last time I played The Dig was around 10 years ago or more, and that was in DOS or DOSBox. Now I am playing it first time in SVM and I'd like to report these strange points I noticed, in case there are some bugs in the game file interpretation. 1. In the asteroid core, the music is an ambient cue wi...

Freddy Pharkas speech
I am trying Freddy Pharkas CD version. From DOSbox there is no text option, although there is still the hanged man bar that sets the text speed. When I run it from ScummVM however there is both text and speech (which means that the text files are still in the CD). However, in some dialogues I can se...

Is there an option for a raw "snapshot"?
I doubt there is such an option but I'd like to ask anyway. I'd like to ask if there is an option to save and restore a raw snapshot of a game, emulator-style. I mean, save snapshots even where the game engine doesn't allow saving (Eg. during arcade sequences or cutscenes). One of the reasons I ask ...

I think the options are valid only if the game supports it. For example the early AGI games were programed to run in Hercules, CGA or EGA modes, so these options run those games accordingly. This can't be the case with later SCI games, so the options can be a little confusing. Some games could be ru...

Settings questions
I have tried to experiment with some game settings, but I saw no observable difference, plus I found no relevant information online, so I ask here. In some AGI games there is the option to "Use Hercules hires font". What exactly is this? I have tried a game with and without this option che...

Problems Quest for Glory I, Amiga
Is there a known problem with HQ1 (Amiga)? I have tried with 2 different copies. In one instance, I enter the castle and sometimes (presumably when the swordmaster appears) i get an error msg about a missing script, and the game crashes. In another instance, when I enter the screen south of the town...

Succesfuly ompleted Lost in Time CD version without ripping
Recently I mounted a CD image of LiT to play with SVM. The engine recognised the game, but popped a warning that running directly from the CD is not supported and it is suggested to rip the game and play from the HD. Nonetheless i played and finished all the game without any problems (other than a g...

I just finished playing the Amiga-SOMI. I would like to point out a couple of things which I think are bugs and perhaps the developers should consider checking and/or fixing. Firstly , the label of the game as VGA/Amiga/English. As I discussed above, the Amiga version is not a VGA version. Certainly...

Is it (was it?) possible to import a QfG I character into QfG III and IV, or was this prevented by Sierra, so only a character from the previous game was usable? I haven't tried it, but I remember from the manual of QfGIII that you can import a QfGI character. But why miss a great game such as QfGI...

Quest for Glory questions
I haven't played QfG since the old days and I plan giving it a run in the SVM. I would like to ask what happens when it comes to the point where you can export or import the stats of your character from one game to the other. I remember that in the original versions you saved it on a foppy or it gen...
