Re: LibRetro Shaders

I also thing that RetroArch shaders are what Scummvm is missing right now: games look SOOOO authentic with scanlines+curvature shaders... Really needed for Apple II and Amiga games, for example, so the games look as intended back in the day. Why not just merge LordHoto's solution into the main code?...

Aaaaand here we go!
A working, opensource Thumbleweed Park engine that let's you complete the game to the end, with some small bugs:

https://github.com/scemino/engge/tree/v0.6.0-alpha

I think this belongs to the almighty Scummvm, it's the destiny! :D

Myst ME (GOG) - Can't select spanish language on GUI

Hi there, Back when Scummvm started supporting Myst ME, I went and bought it from GOG. The game is in spanish, among other languages. Today, I re-added the game in Scummvm, and I can't select it's language on the GUI: I have to force language=es in the scummvm.ini entry for the game. Things seem to ...

Re: Any update on shaders?

Is there a reason for not merging braindx shader support to mains Scummvm code?
I also love shaders. As Scummvm is now, games don't look as they did back in the day. With shaders, they would.

Delores engine (Thumbleweed Park) partially released. Does it mean...?

Well, what are you thoughts on this?

https://grumpygamer.com/delores_dev

Actual release is here:

https://github.com/grumpygamer/DeloresDev

So...Does it mean that Delores engine could become part of Scummvm (if reimplemented I guess)?

Re: Art thou worthy to be the Avatar?

@dreammaster I am trying to build with the ultima engine, and I get an error regarding MP3 functions: engines/ultima/ultima4/sound/music.cpp: In member function 'bool Ultima::Ultima4::Music::startMusic(const Common::String&)': engines/ultima/ultima4/sound/music.cpp:134:52: error: 'makeMP3Stream'...

Re: 15khz output

I understand the OP is talking about 15Khz video modes.
As things are, yes, it depends on the system. ScummVM does not (and should NOT) try to change the system video mode, that makes no sense in modern displays.

Re: MT-32: ALSA buffer underrun only happening with LucasArts games

You can try run `scummvm --dump-midi`. That's will create a 'dump.mid' on your local directory, when you'll quit the game. Then try to play the file with Munt. BTW, Besides that warning, do you hear any problem? Or is it just that warning? Sorry for taking so long to answer! I have done what you sa...

Re: Better Music for GM ScummVM (and DOSBox) games

@vanfanel Your soundfile is obviously superior to everything else i've heard so far. It even beats my YamahaMU90 (by more than a thousand miles)...judging from the youtube videos...man, the intro of Laura Bow sounds like it's played by an orchestra, absolutely grand. Unfortunately i won't be able t...

Will this feature go upstream, please? A simple PR will do... I do not want it to get lost here in the forums.

Re: Better Music for GM ScummVM (and DOSBox) games

Sounds like that's supposed to be the timpani instrument playing there but it's playing a marimba or vibraphone or something instead. Thats my guess, too. Do you think its a problem with the font, then? Also, is it possible to have General MIDI + Adlib fx like the canteen noises on the intro? For e...

It would narrow down the problem.
Yes, that is why I am reporting: it ONLY happens with MT-32 emulation.

MT-32: ALSA buffer underrun only happening with LucasArts games

Hi there, Scummvm audiophiles I have noticed something strange: when using the included MT-32 emulation, I see this when the game is started: Starting 'Loom' ALSA lib pcm.c:8306:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred -That is the only time it happens. It never happens during the game, no matter how man...

@cwadge Here is a record of the precise moment when the clinking sounds come into play: https://www.dropbox.com/s/oec3gu3m5m1a54w/sq4-GM-UDH3-errors.wav I have tried the talkie CD version, and it bugs exactly the same on the same point. Strange, as its supposed to be fully GM compatible as @Musicall...

Re: Better Music for GM ScummVM (and DOSBox) games

@cwadge: I was shocked by how GREAT UHD3 soundfont sounds on the Raspberry Pi using Scummvm and its Fluidsynth support. And being so light, its just perfect for the little computer. Thanks!! However, I have noticed some strange sounds, like in the Space Quest IV (PC) intro music. Almost at the end o...
