Re: Problem running MONKEYISLAND 4

Escape from Monkey Island is still not supported in the stable versions:
https://www.residualvm.org/compatibility/

You would need a daily version of ResidualVM, which can be found near the bottom of the downloads page:

Re: [SOVLED]How to compile with Escape From Monky Island sup

The monkey4 engine is a subset (or superset depending on how you look at it) of the grim engine, also visible here: https://github.com/residualvm/residualvm/blob/master/engines/grim/configure.engine I can't check at the moment, though the list command might not be including the GrimE variant. The lo...

Re: How to compile with Escape From Monky Island support

Hi Jamie,
If you're sure you have all the datafiles set-up correctly, try running the configure script with the following flag:

Code: Select all

Re: Support for Prezzemolo games?

Hello Tom, In order for those games to work in ResidualVM, support will need to be added for their engines, and appropriate asset loading logic put into place. For new engines, it is usually a manual, arduous process that can take quite some time. ResidualVM holds, in fact, reimplementations of the ...

Re: EMI higher resolution than 640x480?

Hi mtp, I haven't checked these in a while so I'm not sure if they work in recent builds. https://github.com/residualvm/residualvm#62-interesting-settings-for-grime-games Especially the fullscreen_res one. You may want to try 'antialiasing=NUM', where num is e.g. 1, 2, 4, 16... Again, not sure if th...

Re: Running The Longest Journey

English is likely the fallback for the string values throughout the code, so it's possible that an English file just isn't needed. Have a look at the README here: https://github.com/residualvm/residualvm/tree/master/po/residualvm Run step 1) and generate a new template file. Try to compare the newly...

Re: Running The Longest Journey

Hmm, I thought language strings would have come from the game data... Or if you're talking about ResidualVM GUI you may want to take a look here: https://github.com/residualvm/residualvm/blob/master/po/residualvm/de_DE.po I am not that familiar with The Longest Journey data structure though, so you ...

Re: Running The Longest Journey

The Longest Journey is not supported by official builds as of yet, however you can likely give it a try with a daily, unstable build from here: http://www.residualvm.org/downloads/#daily You will need to follow these instructions in order to set-up your files: https://github.com/residualvm/residualv...

Re: [SOLVED] Play a 1280x720 game in a 3840x2180 window -- H

I see you've found a solution, which is great. I'd like to add that there seems to have been a recent fix that may perhaps address your issue, if you get it again in the future. I'd like to point you to the Daily builds , which contain the most bleeding edge changes and fixes, and are not official r...

Re: Screenshot?

In the spirit of hostility: use a paid filehoster. And when the free filehoster deletes your image because 'x' days have transpired, then what? Is it not possible that the same applies to a free forum? That aside, even though phpBB (the forum software being used here) has this feature in newer itera...

Re: ResidualVM Tools question

Hi Raziel, To me it looks like it is in the ./configure file, right around here (line 242, though also take a look at line 208): https://github.com/residualvm/residualvm-tools/blob/85f6d59612836564d4527cc285a8ec60716999d3/configure#L242 Suggests that the "syntax" bit could get triggered by...

Re: Escape From Monkey Island released on GoG

@Maselli if you want to play it with ResidualVM, you'll need to get the update and put it in your folder according to the dataffiles instructions, and follow the suggestion regarding the IMT files here.

Re: Escape From Monkey Island released on GoG

I just bought and ran it (on Windows 10 x64), it ran fine. It's not using ResidualVM, though it could be using a patched executable. bgbennyboy had released a launcher that would do that. I have the original data that I could compare an MD5/diff against, though I can't find them at the moment. Might...
