Re: Beyond a Steel Sky

Mixed feelings as in a 3D modelled thin veneer of an adventure games on a closed platfom... what could be seen as a problem :/

I'm sure those hoping for a sequel were more thinking along the lines of BS5.

Most cloud storage providers offer some form of folder sync options so I couldn't understand why cloud saves needed to be a feature in ScummVM. My solution has always been to relocate the Save Path folder to a location that is synchronised [by in my case, OneDrive]. I don't know how mobile platforms...

Oddly, I tested this game back in the day and I had (still have) just the single file "Western" in my game folder. However, I now get the same error as reported when running the game. The ScummVM ini file was new so the environment is not comparable to before though my game folders are. [2018-08-25 ...

Pretty sure the stipulation about source code allows for provision using clear instructions on how to get it. So, a page in the game menu that is clear on what code has been used and where you can get that code from.

There's a benefit for an operating system [and some games/applications] to be compiled as a 64bit executable just not for ScummVM. It doesn't address anywhere near the 32bit memory limit thus has no need/benefit of it. When/if 32bit support is removed from an operating system then I'm sure there'll ...

Gnap is a funny game. Sometimes it's sold using its other title of "U.F.O.s". It's a game and I can't see any issue with the scenes mentioned.

There's simply no reason to do so. It would just be effort for the sake of it and I'm sure we'd prefer contributors to concentrate on stuff that matters.

I have to run the original game engine to check if it's the same but the scene where the bucket is placed on the kid's head may have an issue as the inventory still showed the bucket when it was on the kid's head. I can verify that the bucket shows in the inventory even though it's on the kid's hea...

I sent you a couple of PM's regarding the crash but they are sat in the "outbox" instead of moving to sent. If they're stuck - shall I just raise a bug with the information?

I didn't see an entry for the game on the data files wiki page but copying all of the data files (DAT, AVI, MID) from the ufos folder off the CD was not enough; in this case the original executable, ufos.exe, is also required.

Will have a play through over the next couple of weeks.
