Another key note is graphics. I'm sad to say this, but I know someone who is convinced that graphics matter more to a game than storyline and gameplay. Also, more recently, it seems that some game designers are starting to focus exclusively on multi-player aspects of games, while skimping on the st...

What are your favorite adventure games?

Whether very old, very new or anywhere in between. What's your fav adventure games. I looked and saw only one similar topic like this but it was rather different and no others like it other than one at least within the past few years. In no particular order and basically no more than five, so I gues...

Dreamfall itself came out as one full game, and Ragnar Tornquist knows where he wants the story to go, but it's simply a funding issue at this point. Dreamfall had poor reviews and then was highly pirated at the same time. It was a fairly dismal happening for anyone as incredibly into the story as ...

I've never used any Windows OS made after Windows XP but as most people are aware it has too many issues running older games. I'm not interested in upgrading to Vista or v.7 but even if I was my computer would have a hard to time handling the former(if it could at all) and as far as I'm aware it can...

Going a bit OT here, but this is an interesting statement IMHO. As technology changes so will the ways game are. I don't think it changes that much. Newer tech allows bigger, better looking gamewords and combining different game genres, but doesn't really change what people like. For example, the n...

I can give a list off the top of my head. Any LucasArts/LucasFilm adventure Most Sierra adventures Discworld Series Simon the Sorcerer series Beneath a Steel Sky Titanic: Adventure out of Time (and probably most other Cyberflix games) Anything from Delphine software's original adventure lineup. (Fr...

I am very grateful to ScummVM and those that work on it for basically many of the reasons already mentioned. It is very annoying to find many old games not running properly on newer Operating Systems or as for those DOS games usually needing to run them in DOSBox, while I am also very grateful to it...

the 13 episodes to continue The Longest Journey Dreamfall are necessary What are you talking about? As far as I'm currently aware it was released as a full game but I didn't look into how it was originally released. Until the day that a real company comes out with a reasonable adventure game, I'm g...

Wasn't my intention to embarrass you. I didn't consider you'd made a mistake. I just thought maybe you preferred it that way. If Max and Sam works for you then fine. I'll know you mean Sam and Max - I don't think it's possible to confuse with anything else. If I do think something would embarrass s...

Tex Murphy 3 and 4(I see you didn't mention that one but I mentioned it for clarity) are as I'm aware out of the scope of ScummVM as mentioned in this topic. http://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?t=6691& Though I believe 1 and 5 on your list are currently in early stages of development. Not su...

While I've only started using it again recently, I originally used it years ago to play Beneath a Steel Sky. Back then I'd never heard of it before I don't think. I still remember the old interface, it sure has improved, more user friendly and modern looking. :)

The movement controls are exactly the same as Grim Fandango, just moved to WASD... not sure which game you've been playing. That was only implemented in the 3rd and most recent season of Sam & Max(however since I've yet to play the original game I'm not sure about the controls for it), the firs...

Max and Sam I had to post simply to say I can't recall ever seeing the names put the other way round anywhere. PMing me and letting me know so I could have edited that post would have left me less embarrassed but I'll cope! 8) But just imagine if it was actually that way around and Max was the more...

Ok, I'll be frank in that I love the Sam and Max games and I think Telltale are a cool company but I'm not here to argue about their games or the company itself. They also worked on CSI and I was into those games. Not every game needs to be a long one to be good. I'm not much into the casual game sc...

Re: Scummvm on Facebook

I was surprised to see no Group for it what's this then? That's a Page about ScummVM(seems to be an business one) on Facebook, not an actual Group. here is another one That one is I think a Community Page on the other hand. Well, I personally never understood why one needs Facebook groups everythin...
