Adventure History in the Mystery House (ADL testing)

"You are in the front yard of a large, abandoned Victorian house." You can now experience adventure game history, and play Sierra's early Hi-Res Adventure #1: Mystery House in ScummVM. Dare you leap back to 1980 and take the steps up to the porch? Grab the game and a daily build , and join...

The plugin support in master was removed by a pull request, so builds using plugins ended up broken.

digitall has now modified the buildbot configuration so that it doesn't try using plugins, and our daily builds should work after the next build. I hope.

The Google Play build is without plugins, and I've uploaded it in a zip (with docs etc) too (just waiting for someone to update the website). I'll upload a plugin build to the website sometime soon, although I'm kind of hoping no-one will want one.

I guess I'm doing the Android builds; I just pushed it to Google Play (it'll take a while to appear) and I'll put it on our webpage later today.

It *must* be possible for the plugins to launch themselves. MIUI refuses to let them do so. The article digitall linked to above should let you re-enable that.

The pitfall is that the framework is new to kitkat so I don't know scummvm enough to evaluate the migration to the new sdk and adapt the code... The pitfall is that the new framework is beyond idiotic. It's only accessible via Java and requires an *intent* to save a file (seriously?). Unless there'...

(2 from Little Ark Interactive (short-lived Living Books spinoff)) Daniel in the Lion's Den & The Story of Creation. If they're LB games, then yes. I have yet to buy a copy of these myself, so I haven't tested them. If you own copies, and you can find an LB config file (book.ini or outline.ini ...

There is a good reason now - Wayland only distros. If you're using a Wayland-only distro then you're deliberately making life difficult for yourself and choosing to not be able to run apps.. And the SDL2 APIs have changed so we don't build against SDL2 at the moment. As I said on IRC it's totally n...

Don't get me wrong, I understand the importance of keeping good practices and adhering to standards, but I'd feel very pretentious sticking a long-winded legal header on a little toy like this (although that WTFPL license is kind of tempting). I appreciate the advice, though -- I'll keep it in mind...

You have to remove all the existing packages first, Android's package manager won't let you install the debug-signed packages alongside the release-signed packages.

Re: Why is the ScummVM core isn't a separate project?

wouldn't it be a better idea to have a centralized core and separated game engines? Some more work on separating the game engines would be great for non-adventure-game 2D game projects (as sev said it's been on our TODO for years, and it is a lot better than it was a few years ago thanks to things ...

A single call to list() shouldn't be _that_ astronomically slow i.e. worst case is 1sec, not 10-20sec! :) I wouldn't be so sure, honestly: if they manage to make it 1sec at all (for an operation which should take 1ms or less) then 10sec on some devices isn't out of the question (and it really isn't...
