Re: Larry 1 corrupted version
Looking ScummVM detections, it seems to exist only one version of spanish VGA Larry, but there is a message indicating "this is a known corrupted version". Where can I find info on this topic? What does it mean corrupted (corrupted from what) if it is the only one? I wasn't able to find o...

Out of curiosity, I tried Space Quest 4 on DOSBox as well, and it's behaving correctly there (ie keeps the hotspot on the same physical location on the screen and moves the cursor icon instead; the same way it does in ScummVM). It's fascinating - even in early 90's, with their very first games to h...

Is that in the daily build, yet? yes EDIT: I just took a closer look at the menu code. It seems we are lucky. Sierra left code in there, that would have been shown for Non-CD versions. We only patch the CD-version of Laura Bow 2 + King's Quest 6, which means there is plenty of code space available ...

Anyway, about the in-graphics for the 'both' button, why don't you hold a competition for a button graphic on the same style with GPL attribution? It's not like style is copyrighted or anything. I just took a closer look at the menu code. It seems we are lucky. Sierra left code in there, that would...

Update on text+audio support: King's Quest 6 text+audio support somewhat works with the patches, that I created for Laura Bow 2. But there are graphical issues. The low-res King's Quest 6 draws text-boxes too far to the left/right and the corresponding frame gets cut off. And hi-res King's Quest 6 ...

Hi, I wonder if someday, it could be possible in ScummVM to enable to combine the text from the German version (there is no talkie German) of SQ4 with the speech of the English version, or is that even planned? I have both versions and am curious. In theory yes. But it would require lots of work. T...

It's already possible to compress SCI audio resources (of Sierra games) by using ScummVM tools (using MP3, etc.). I doubt that our solution is compatible with SCI studio though.cloudee1 wrote:It would still be interesting though to hear how scummvm handles the way we managed to incorporate mp3 playback.

Oh, I meant that ScummVM Tools displayed the warning during the compression process. I tried playing KQ6 with the compressed resource.aud, and so far the lip-sync seems to be fine... The tools show this message to inform the user. The (raw) lip-sync data is copied over to the compressed file. Altho...

To fix this, simply add the following line within setPositionWorkarounds() inside engines\sci\graphics\cursor.cpp - right after the QFG1VGA entry: { GID_QFG3, 70, 170, 40, 61, 81, 258 }, // Quest For Glory 3 / run/walk/sleep sub-menu this will fix this issue (it's actually an incompatibility issue w...

Probably, although it got slightly modified from the original. But it may also include your screenshots. It may be just the wrong nickname in some countries as well.MusicallyInspired wrote:I guess that includes using Graham as your forum avatar?
Although in those cases most of the time noone cares.

Sure it could. But then ScummVM gets closed down by lawyers of Activision for distributing graphics of King's Quest 4. Simply use an original picture specifically drawn for SCUMMVM and not one that infringes on anyone's copyrights. I'm sure there will be plenty of artists eager to help. I'm sorry, ...
