You can still play them with the unoficcial conversion. Anyway, if you want to get the official one, I also guess it is going to be released some time soon.

If you try, you can find many on second hand markets or on eBay. And usually with very good prices too.

As of today, no official release of Android 2.1 is out. There is an unofficial version, though, that runs smoothly despite some minor issues. You can find it in the thread entitled "State of the Android port 1.5-2.1".
