I followed the instructions to rip the audio to mp3 and put them in the same folder as the game files but it still tells me I need to get the audio and the game plays without music.

What have I done wrong?

Do the mp3s need to be ripped as a specific rate? I chose best quality.

I'm another noob who's only just discovered scummvm and this is probably a very simplistic way to look at it but if Curse of Monkey Island needs 16mb ram, would it be possible to use one of the new 16mb misco sdhc cards to make it work?

Looks like something is wrong if that's all that's on the card. Try going through each file and see what size it is. You shouldn't need to go through each file.
