scummvm.exe - No Disk error on 1.6.0 win32

Is this a known error with the release version of ScummVM 1.6.0 (win32): I’m running Windows 8 64-Bit, and I’ve deleted the ScummVM.ini file (just to be sure it's not a config file-related error). Whenever I start ScummVM I get an error saying “There is no disk in the drive, Please insert a disk int...

Yeah, I see, you're absolutely correct. At any rate, I think my point still stands: (Generally speaking,) it shouldn't be up to the game to decide what resolution it's run at, it should be up to the system to pick the resolution and up to the user to decide how to get it there (i.e. which scalers).

I don't know the current state of resolution/scaler discussions overly well, but it seems to me the current state of affairs is very game-centric, instead of platform-centric. What I mean is, it depends entirely on what the original game's resolution is. If you set ScummVM to a default of a 2x scale...

...in the Audio tab, choose "MT-32 emulator" as the preferred device... Ah, bingo, I was missing this simple step. Been a while since I'd re-installed my computer, and thus set up ScummVM for the 1st time... I had forgotten this one little thing. That sounds *much* better. (QFG2 and QFG4;...

MT-32 Emulation not working under Windows 8

Hi all, I recently upgraded my computer to Windows 8, and I don't think the MT-32 emulation is working. I've tried with my mt32 roms in both the Extras folder I'd specified, and then also in the same folder that ScummVM is in. I've tried with the release version 1.5.0, and with today's daily build (...

Thanks to all Devs for SCI

I just wanted to take a second and say thank you to all the devs who are working on adding support for the later SCI3 and SCI32 games. I like to follow along at https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/commits/master/engines/sci , so I especially want to thank bluegr for what feels like a renewed vigor th...

This undithering is really awesome. I fully expected you guys to eventually code support for not dithering the backgrounds, but that you're also actively trying to undither the sprites is incredible. Just one question about that, is there a setting where I can disable sprite undithering but still en...

Re: Favorite SCI0 art?

But apparently the artists for many SCI0 games didn't know about this limitation (or at least ignored it), as they chose 16-color EGA palettes that were different for each scene. The result was that the original SCI interpreter took these backgrounds and 'massacred' them with ugly dithering. Can yo...

I've been getting the feeling lately that everyone posting about how SCI doesn't work properly aren't seeing all the other posts pointing out how it's a WIP. I have a feeling it's more like SCI support has been eagerly anticipated for a long time, and alot of people who don't have the neccessary te...

I just tried both two SCI games, and noticed some problems with the numpad keys. The Numpad Enter does not work (should be the same as standard enter), and the numpad Home,End,PgUp,PgDn keys do not walk ego diagonally. (The standard Home, End, PgUp, and PgDown keys work as they should.) Also, the nu...

In the case of LSL5, such a "driver" file was used to store the game's password, which could be changed from the game itself Ha, I remember that. Same thing for LSL7; er, not a password, but they had wallpaper's renamed as .drv files. I think I read on Al Lowe's site http://www.allowe.com...

1) Current goal is to make main parts of engine working well in ScummVM. Once that goal is achieved, we may start looking into bringing bells and whistles. At this point that is not the focus. Yeah, of coure that's perfectly reasonable. Idly thinking, I guess you'd even call that non-dithering a VG...

SCI implementation general question

Hey all, big fan of all you guy's work on scummvm (awesome program) and like many I'm excited about the future prospect of playing most of the SCI games in scummvm as well. I've got a passing knowledge of SCI (nothing too technical) and I've just got a couple questions for curiosity's sake, and was ...
