From my own experience, it's generally a bad idea to mix official debian packages with non-official ones. What I do is to create a symlink from /usr/local/bin to the binary in my source tree. It's really not so much of a problem since you only only need one file for ScummVM (unless you use dynamic p...

I haven't looked into the problem, but my best guess is that the debian builds used source code from CVS. We switched to Subversion a couple of months ago, so that might have broken the daily build system. Again, I'm only guessing. It could be something completely different. In any case I don't real...

The games are still copyrighted and cannot be distributed. So no, he cannot upload the whole DVD.

Hmmm.... Indeed. I just had a look at the forums with my flatmate's laptop, and the font colour looks almost black on it too. I wonder if this has to do with Microsoft's vs Apple's colour calibration, as I am on a Mac while my flatmate has WinXP. Or maybe my 14" iBook screen is just crap.

No, the white background is perfectly fine for me. It's rather the grey font that makes it hard to read. But then again, I'm on a laptop using a TFT screen. It's entirely possible that the white may be too bright for you if you're using a CRT -- I can't judge that.

Generally I like it a lot. It looks very nice. BUT, I find it somehow hard on the eyes to read. I'm not exactly sure what causes this, but it might be the lack of sufficient contrast between the grey font on the white background. The combination actually even makes the background look grey to me (al...

Symbian is an operating system used by some mobile phones. A list of mobile phones using it can be found here: http://www.symbian.com/phones/index.html (although I do not know how comprehensive it is). ScummVM might or might not work on some or all of them. You will need to hear from first hand expe...

It's really very easy. Just download the ScummVM .dmg file for Mac OS X, open it and place the ScummVM application in your Applications folder or on your Desktop. If you're using one of the freeware games that we offer, just unpack the downloaded file and place the resulting directory anywhere on yo...

I'm taking a wild stab here too as I don't use Windows either, but it looks like a path problem to me. Are you maybe running compress_scumm_sou directly from start->run as opposed to typing it into a command line shell? If that's the case, try using a shell and first "cd" into the director...
