all except Dig and Comi(Curse of Monkey Island).
And I think Broken Sword 2 is also in exclusion list.

Post by glokidd »

I understand that you need pocketTunes to play the games with cd audio (and fm-towns i think) i just wanted to be sure i got the right site for that
http://www.pocket-tunes.com/
if it is right, what version do you need? i notice there are two: Basic and Deluxe

yes it finally came :D
now im sorta stumped
im using quick install and following the directions from the readme

Install into your device via hotsync :
- ScummVM-Frontend.prc
- skin.pdb (more at http://capers.free.fr/ScummVM/skins.php)
- mathlib.prc (not required on Zodiac)
ok i did that
but when i try to install any of the files to my card quick install gives me this message
"there is no application on the organizer to handle this file (0x4005)"

now, i noticed that there are file paths

Install the following files on you memory card (Zodiac owners must use
the *.engine files in the Signed folder) :

/Palm/Programs/ScummVM/Mods/

i cant figure out how to acsess my card in this manner
any help would be appreciated

You need to use a card reader for that, you can't copy those files to the card with quick install, just buy a cheap usb sd cardreader and you can get them on there. (isn't this in the documentation? if not it really should be added)

There's also software to acces the card while it's in the cradle, but it's more expensive and slower then a cardreader.

ok i got the reader and loaded the game (MI2) and files to it accordingly
i put in the path named itetc.

Entry name:
Monkey Island 2: Lechuck's Revenge
Path: CARD/PALM/Programs/ScummVM/Games/mi2
Game:mi2
Engine: scummgames

for the sake of trying to get it to work i turned off the sound

what happens when i try to start the game is i get a message saying:

importing databases
please wait

then it just flashes back to the main screen (quick tour, bluetooth, calc, etc)

Im confused :(

edit:
ok by renaming Game: to the game id (monkey2) i then make it to the game loading screen. then a message comes up saying: "cannot find monkey2.000". i checked and the file is there. i also tried to run the floppy version of samnmax, got the same message and when i checked the directory i put the files, there was no samnmax.000
im still very confused
the scumm text doc says:

WARNING: Unable to open configuration file: /PALM/Programs/ScummVM/scummvm.ini!
Looking for monkey2
Trying to start game 'Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's revenge'
WARNING: md5_file couldn't open 'monkey2.000'!
Unknown MD5! Please report the details (language, platform, etc.) of this game to the ScummVM team
(0:0:0x0): Cannot find file: 'monkey2.000'!

Thanks again chrillith ,
last night i was looking though the archived sourceforge threads, saw how many times this question has been asked and i'm sorry for bringing up again
I got it to work by accident after getting a hint fom tose pages

Path: /PALM/Programs/ScummVM/Games/mi2
my problem what the first [/] i forgot it

now the games work from the launcher, (i have the sound turned off still)
and monkeyega runs fairly well; the scrolling slows it down a bit, and i had to turn up the text speed. Samnmax works as well but character animation is very slow.

thanks again for all your help

ok now i found ARM optimization and scrolling problems and animation speed are now no lionger a problem. Full throttle on the other hand i just cant to run.
i tried with just the ARM optimization and got the following message

Fatal Alert
MemoryMgr.c, line:2798,
MemMove to Null
Reset

i reset, then deleted and re-installed ScummVM and proceeded to try the "Use larger stack" option as well as the ARM opt witch brought up (during the loading screen) the following ScummVM error

Looking for ft
Trying to start game 'Full Throttle'
WARNING: md5_file couldn't open 'ft.la0'!
Unknown MD5! Please report the details (language, platform, etc.) of this game to the ScummVM team
(0:0:0x0): File::size: File is not open!!

the bottom line is actually the error message that comes up
Im stumped
or maybe im just dreaming
