MI 1 and 2 CD-ROM versions on scummVM

Post by Swervy »

Hello everyone,

After much searching I managed to purchase the Monkey Island Bounty pack from E-Bay. Not being able to contain my excitement at a nostalgic weekend of classic Lucasarts gaming I proceeded to downloaded the latest version of scummVM (ver 0.8.0). :P

Unfortunately I cannot get either MI 1 or 2 to work with scummVM. I have the scummVM quick and easy program, which is updated to the latest version.

I'm going crazy here, can someone in idiot proof terms explain how I can get these CD-ROM versions to work with scummVM.

Many regards

Frustrated point and click fan

Hi!
I simply created one directory for each game and copied the corresponding contense of the CD into them. Do not install the games via autostart. Then start SCUMM VM, assign the created directories to Scumm VM and it should work. To experience the Soundtrack of Monkey 1, leave the CD-Rom inserted. Worked very well in my case!

What a result, just putting the "Do not disturb" sign up, I'm like a kid at Christmas.

Thanks Xerosch, would never of known to copy the files over.

Maybe that one should be part of the FAQ.
