Keyboard problem

Hi
I have problem with keyboard support in PS2 scummvm. My keyboard is working in PS2 games but not in scummvm. I read many posts but didn't find correct solution. I tried use $ony USBD.IRX modules and no luck. In ps2link I get this:

code:
PS2KBD: Found a keyboard device
PS2KBD: Connected device
PS2KBD - USB Keyboard Library
PS2KEYBOARD: Configuration set error res 290, bytes 0, arg a8700

Is there any solution with that problem? There is any chance to add virtual keyboard to PS2 port? Thanks for any reply.

Hi there Belek666,

I just tested it right now and both USB keyboards and mice seem to be working fine. I tested both ScummVM/PS2 1.0.0 and SVN with:

- Sony Linux Dev Kit Keyboard

- Sony Linux Dev Kit Mouse

- Vidabox Keyboard + Mouse

- Gyration Keyboard + Mouse

Which is about all the USB keyboards and mice I have around Wink

All of them work fine whether you have them plugged at boot, or you plug them later. In the combo USB wireless dongles, only the keyboard part is working (I might investigate this some time Wink

Please provide us with more details:

a) version of PS2

b) type of exploit / mod chip

c) version of ps2link / ps2client

d) version of scummvm

e) cksum of usbd.irx(s) used

Looking forward to get your keyboard going.

Thanks,
-max

Hi there Belek666!

>> SCPH-300003 PAL

Ok, it's a chubby.

So are they the ones from ps2dev svn trunk ?

I use myself ps2link / ps2client when developing ScummVM.

We have a modded version of ps2client in our release,
have you tried that?

I'd be more suspicious of some IRX loaded at ps2link start
though, do you have another way to boot scummvm? E.g.
with uLE from USB key? to see if this is the case.

Have you tried the one that comes with ScummVM release too?

Thanks!

I've loaded ScummVM from usb stick using uLE. When my keyboard didn't work with it I use ps2link to find a problem. I tried many usbd.irx and of course the one that comes with ScummVM.

My keyboard isn't working with homebrew apps but with $ony games and PS2 linux works very well.

Here is my old topic when I tried find solution by myself: http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewtopic.php?t=12501

Sorry for bad english.

Good approach!

I always do the same when I test for a release Wink

I thought so, but I wanted to be sure.

Interesting, then this might suggest that something with
the exploit FMCB is causing this issue. Could you please
try couple of things:

- a different exploit (e.g. one of those based on certain
PS1 CD ?)

- a different keyboard (or a different USB port, switch
USB key and kbd)

- does it work with a USB mouse?

Please let me know.

That's all I can think of, checking the thread I saw that
even Mega Man, who is one of the gurus of PS2 homebrew,
gave up, so I am doubtful that I will come out with
anything smarter...

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

- ok, I tested swapmagic, title.db exploit and in both my keyboard isn't working with homebrew driver

- I don't have another usb keybord. Reconnecting to different port didn't help.

- I also have problem with mouse. I tested two usb mouses and both didn't work correctly (when I move mouse the cursor moves only up and down - in $onys game also, only in ps2 linux all is ok).
