Testing for 1_0_0rc

Post by Anotherguest »

Hi!
Test version of the 1_0_0rc (I think that is right) can now be downloaded here:
http://anotherguest.se/cvsbuilds/scummv ... cS60v3.sis
and
http://anotherguest.se/cvsbuilds/scummv ... rcUIQ3.sis

I have made a couple of adjustments in the SDL, turn off interpolation with '5'(or 'r') for speedup on large resolution devices (or slow qvga devices) and '6'(or 'a') for Keep aspectratio whilst in ctrl mode.

I still (and some others do also) experience the "no-sound/crash-problem" on my Nokia 5800 running the 1.0 rc and the phone with the latest firmware from nokia. (but other users with samsung phones experience the same bug too, so it might be a software/port problem? )

thanks a lot for the good work, keep going! :)

No-sound/crash problem does n't really say anything to me. No sound is usually only setting the volume properly. Crash? Well that might be depending on the state of the phone. And error dialogs might be displayed by some phones (brands) and some might not.

So please give better error reports, reports bugs in the tracker, and describe the problem properly. Random crashes is not really a good bug description and pretty hard to debug.

When I'm playing for about few minutes in Broken Sword it goes out to the phone menu :( I turn off Autosave "every 5 minutes" but this gives me nothing :(

Thanks for preview version!

One problem I noticed so far is that scummvm does not seem to find the german version of full throttle.
It works finde on my pc with scummvm v13.
Although I did not yet tinker arround with it yet...

[edit]
Tried it again and now it works?! Oh well... :)

Btw... Does a third display mode with correct aspect ratio (and letterboxing) exist?
4:3 stretched to 16:9 looks weird!

Green key, (Or tap ctrl) tap/press 6, Green (or ctrl) again. that will keep aspect correctly. But right now the clip rect is not quite correct.

Played Discworld 2. Game itself runs fine, but cutscenes are skipping and stuttering all over. I'm using Nokia 5800XM. Any ideas or it's just the way it is?

I finally know how to play Broken Sword without crash on Nokia 5800 :) You have to use non-compressed version of Broken Sword (game is amazing).

I think DW2 is vga, so those cutscenes might require lots of CPU power. What firmware version do you have? Remember that firmwares >=20 for the 5800 will make your 5800 faster, i.e increase the clockrate, which is really good for ScummVM.

I use V30.0.011

it COULD be an issues of the reading speeds from the MicroSD... possible?
