Siemens SX1 installation problems

Post by tentacle1000 »

Hi there,
I tried to install scummvm S60 0.8.0 version1 and version2 on my SX1 (Music Edition), but I only get an error message: "Not enough memory. Erase data"; But I've got 120 MB of free memory on my multimedieacard, and had never problems with the installation of .sis files. Perhaps my symbian OS does not fit to that version. How can I find out what version is running on my SX1?
Thanks

Thanks.
Found that too, but the link
http://www.uae50.com/modules/mysections ... akeSIS.exe
is dead.
Managed to extract the files with the good old Total Commander
http://www.techspot.com/download301.html
plus the packer tool for .sis files (to ectract them)
http://ghisler.fileburst.com/plugins/pdunsis.zip

For the ones with the same problem I had (under winXP):
Extract the scummvm-0.8.0-S60-v1.sis file with Total Commander.
Copy the files to the SX1 under the same paths like in the extracted file.
E.G. the file EScummVMS60 to (multimediacard letter or what ever)E:\system\apps.
After that, EscummVm should appear in your menue.
I've tried monkey island 1:
Copy the complete game in any folder (I choose E:\system\apps\EScummVMS60) and choose it with add game, point with the cross to the right letter (directory) and then do a DOUBLE klick with the stick to open that path, choose, OK, start et voilà.
Only bug I've discovered so far is, that the volume can not be controlled and is too loud.
Great to see and play my fav adventures on the SX1!
Well done guys! 8)

Overclock your SX1!

Post by Maveric »

Hi!

For those of you who have SX1 phones, you can gain some extra speed by overclocking it.

The SX1 is set by Siemens at 120-130mhz (depending on what firmware you are using) and your MMC speed at 16mhz.

I have overclocked my processor speed to about 170mhz (the speed the processor was designed for) and my MMC is now at 24mhz. This will also give you a little more free memory as well.

You can find out how to patch your firmware to do this at

Firmware Zarkon 1.3

Post by zarkon »

You can download Zarkon's Firmware 1.3 for Siemens Sx1 at:

http://zarkon.iespana.es

It's overclock processor at 162Mhz, MMC at 24Mhz, increments infrarred time to 5 minutes, increments the video recorder duration over 3 minutes, increments the audio grabber duration to 20 minutes...
