What is the name of this game?

Post by bobdevis »

I remember playing an adventure game a long time ago that was quite hilarious.
Now that I discovered the ScummVM project, I got the urge to track it down again, but I don't remember the name.

The details I am 100% sure of are the following;
You (the main character) are a court jester.
There was a puzzle where, to blow up a wall, you needed to put some mold or plant life between the cracks and feed it some liquid to let it expand.

Does anyone know what game I am talking about? Thanks a lot in advance.

It could be the third Kyrandia game, Malcolm's Revenge. Though I might just think that because it's one of the games that ScummVM supports. :)

You can find some pictures from that series in the ScummVM screenshots gallery.

Here's what I can remember:

The front box cover was of the clock tower
A mystery, had something to do with time travel I think
Was one of the first to be a graphic novel type game I believe.

Do these small clues help jog someone's memory?

Lost in Time almost sounds like it, the only part I can recall with certainty is the box art, there's a man standing by the clock tower in it and looking up at it. Oh and something '3000 AD'

"3000 AD"? Then it's not Lost in Time, which features a woman from the late 20th and a time agent from the late 21th century; and takes partly place in the mid 19th century.

No, the game took place in London I think (Or had something to do with London) and the main character was a young man in his early to mid 30s by the sound of the actor who played him. (sorry for the scant clues, we ran across the game in a used shop (1 of three games, the other two being DragonSphere and Lure) I'm not sure but I think it was made around 90-93 or 94 at most.

Noctropolis just barely fits the description of the cover art, but from what I've seen of the game itself it doesn't match the rest of the description.

Browsing EBay earlier I came across the game under a couple of slightly different names.
City In Trouble Year 2000
London City 2000
Is it any good Alara?

It was sort of adventure/detective thing where you first go past and find out something about your uncle and thenwhen you are done in the past you go to future. im not sure because when i played it i was too young to underestand english. i played it about 10 years ago but the game is even older.

Screenshots of most of the scummVM-supported games can be browsed here

But I suppose you have browsed that page without a result?
