Downloading SKY.CPT to Windows XP with...varying sizes?

Post by dricenticore »

I tried to include as much as I could in the title but here it is in the all new un-summarised form. The game I am using (or trying to) is BASS (we all know what that stands for).

Action: Download (from scummnm.org) and Save file SKY.CPT to the directory that contains my other BASS files.

Problems: 1.: Downloading abnormally slowly, sometimes 0.25 kbps
2.: Download "finishing" at random intervals, i.e I will recieve 12 kbs of the file in question, then on second download 72 kbs, and finally, on third download, 34 kbs.

Symptoms: Scummvm closing itself after the opening scene/intro -12kbs file,
Scummvm closing itself after dying (walked down stairs and was shot during first player controlled er... part, probably normal) -72 kbs
And the 34 kbs file is the same as the 12 kbs file

Research I've done: Searched forum for other cases of this problem, Google-Searched the web for an alternate download page. I haven't seen anything promising though.

What would help: Knowing how big SKY.CPT is supposed to be or working out what it was I did wrong so I can access a normal copy of the file.

I tried to make that intelligible enough to read, if it looks like some sort of letter blob or you need extra information just ask.

seems sourceforge has download problems again

good idea to put the filesize there (also MD5? or a zipped version?)

I mirrored SKY.CPT for you in the meantime:

http://www.unet.univie.ac.at/~a0200586/stuff/sky.cpt (409 KB (419.427 Bytes))

hope that helps,

You can also get it from the 'engine-data' CVS module.

right now cvs access times out in 10/10 cases for me

I think if the standard sf.net stuff doesn't work, the cvs won't work either

That (view)CVS server is on a different machine than the ScummVM website and the link worked (and works) perfectly fine for me. *shrug*
