Post by Basekid »

Hi all,

I just downloaded the pocketARM version of scummVM, but I can;t get it to work.

Can someone please explain how you have to compile stuff? Or is that only if you want to make modifications?

thanks for your time,

Basekid

ps, i have a XScale processor, can that be the reason why it won;t work?

What device do you have to run PocketSCUMM on?

What happened after you uploaded the file on your device and executed it?

The XScale processor (actally, XScale is the name of the whole achitecture) contains a CPU by ARM, so the Windows Mobile Version for ARM should work if you own a PocketPC device. Compiling is only necessary if you want to use the newest modifications.

Since there are no dependencies on external libraries, I don't really understand what's going on here

Hi Arisme,

I've got an ARM-based Smartphone 2002 based cellphone. Unzipping and running PocketScumm 0.8.0 on my device does not work (cannot find scummvm ... check libraries ...). I checked the executable and you only import coredll.dll. Have you got any clue as to what is wrong (I also noticed that no icon is displayed)?

Thanks.

Mmh. Perhaps EVC 4 had the nice idea to generate code that uses specific XScale extensions ? Will check that

My cell uses TI's OMAP which features an ARM core. I build apps using EVC3 and they work just fine. It may be that you import functions from coredll that are not present in the 2002 version. I may have some free time this weekend to look into it.

Pocket PC 2002 does not work, Pocket PC 2003 works!

Post by 2GooD »

Hi!

I tried scummvm.exe from scummvm-0.8.0-WindowsMobile_ARM.zip on two different Pocket PC devices with StrongARM CPU architecture:

1. A Compaq iPAQ 3870 running Pocket PC 2002 (Windows CE 3.0.11171)

2. A Fujisu-Siemens Pocket Loox 600 running Pocket PC 2003 (Windows CE 4.20.1081)

When I attempt to run scummvm.exe on the first device I get this error message:

"Cannot find 'scummvm' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and all the required libraries are available."

Also, a stock icon is used instead of the ScummVM "S".

On the second device, running scummvm.exe works fine, I get the game selection dialog. The file icon is the ScummVM "S".

Hi All,

So are there any news for the 2002 version? Do we have to compile it ourselves? Is there going to be a fixed release?

Best,
