Naming convention in game list in the scummVM program

Post by pncFreak »

When opening scummVM, the game list displays the proper titles of Monkey Island games 1&2, but this leads to the games being separated by other games in the list.

I assume that the developers has coded in the proper titles, since the naming of the game folders differ from what's visible in the gamelist in scummVM.

My wish is to have the Monkey Island games grouped together listed beneath each other. This could easily be done by naming the games like this:

MI1: The Secret of Monkey Island
MI2: Le Chuck's Revenge
MI3: The Curse of Monkey Island
MI4: Escape from Monkey Island

Any opinions on implementing such a naming convention?

Yeah: In the Launcher, click on the "edit game" button for each game, and enter the game description you prefer, done :)

Well I know that MI4 is unsupported, and I don't even own it (and as is evident from my post I was mentioning MI1&2).

That being said, is it feasible that the work on Grim Fandango could make MI4 compatible? I think they use the same engine?

Thank you for the rename tip fingolfin!

I did not think of that :)

yes it is possible some day that MI4 will be supported by Residual, but that is still a long time away I'm afraid.
