No, you don't need any additional files other than those on the cd's.

Read the readme. I believe that's what it's for;)

mmmmm.. the Readme of ScummVM at this point:

Code: Select all

3.6) The Curse of Monkey Island notes:
---- ---------------------------------
For this game, you will need the comi.la0, comi.la1 and comi.la2 files. The
comi.la0 file can be found on either CD, but since they are identical it
doesn't matter which one of them you use.

In addition, you will need to create a "resource" subdirectory containing all
of the files from -both- "resource" subdirectories on the two CDs. Some of
the files appear on both CDs, but again they're identical.
Mmmmmmmm... i make this solution:
1) Create a Folder "Mi3_CD" on my HD and copy all file comi*.* on this folder.
2) Create a SubFolder in first Folder named "resource" and copy all file for both cd contain "resource" subfolder.
3) Add the folder "Mi3_CD" on ScummVM

It's correct ?

Sounds like it would work. You should end up with three comi.la* files numbered 0 through 2, and a resource folder with a bunch of files.

I believe the comi.la* files contain the game scripts, graphics, etc. while the resource folder contains cutscene videos, sound, music, etc.

Just read this
http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Datafiles

for each game it specifies what files need to be copied

Curse of Monkey Island, The
RESOURCE folder
COMI.LA0
COMI.LA1
COMI.LA2

Here's a question. What is the advantage to playing Curse of Monkey Island on SkummVM?

Unlike the other titles, it's a windows game, and seems to be compatable with WinXP.

The original executable only works on Windows. Plus it had choppy mouse movement compared to ScummVM when I tried it.

Plus, there are bugs in the original executable that means on some machines the cut-scenes will suddenly speed up for chunks for no apparent reason, meaning that some bits get missed out.

It's also a whole lot more stable - the first time I played through CMI on my dad's PC 9 years ago, it must have crashed a couple of dozen times.
